Being a "horse person", and a Realtor, I know how important it is to find a Realtor who knows the language of other horse people.  When I was looking for a horse property before I was a Realtor, agents I worked with showed me the most outlandish things they thought would be good horse properties.   Wordless Wednesday- I heard Chelsea Clinton's wedding will be down the road By now, everyone has heard Chelsea Clinton wedding will be held in Rhinebeck, New York and to be more specific at a former Astor family mansion on River Road. River Road is  a New York State scenic road with many large gates, gate houses and long driveways which leave you wondering what is at the end of those driveways. Arielle another fine Rhinebeck New York Restaurant Saturday was another wedding anniversary and my husband asked me to pick a restaurant.  I like trying new places and since Arielle was one of the few restaurants in Rhinebeck I have not dined at I decided it would be the one. Since we had made a reservation we were seated immediately and I can say the service was excellent since there was enough staff available to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We started the evening with some wine and and a platter of cheese with dried fruits and nuts and crostini .  My choice for a main course was duck breast in Rhubarb sauce. Last week at the Craft Fair in Rhinebeck I came across some very beautiful handcrafted African baskets.  This is how I learned about Desto and Tina who were originally from Ghana.  Both were taught the art of basket making at the age of thirteen and have been doing this for over 30 years.  This tradition has been passed on from generation to the next and Desto and Tina are presently teaching this craft to their daughter. These baskets are all handmade and both traditional and creative design goes into each product. I asked Tina and Desto about their internet presence and was told they are working on it.  In the meanwhile they can be reached at 413-782-7789.     I was traveling south on Route 9 when I was struck by this Rhinebeck Country Scene.  Although this old barn is located close to the road, in the background is a lovely view of the Catskill Mountains. Even a simple scene is a reminder of how picturesque the Mid-Hudson Valley is. The Woods is a wonderful place to live....I know that because my husband and I live here. It is truly care free living. No lawn mowing, no snow shoveling, no leaves to rake and no gutters to clean.  Stortini Drive a Neighborhood of newer homes in the Village of  Rhinebeck NY The Charming Village of Rhinebeck has mostly older homes.  Because of the charm of these older and historic homes many people have been attracted to the area. However, some families want newer and larger homes right in the village. One solution to this issue was the development now known as Stortini Drive, a neighborhood of colonial and victorian style homes built from 2003-2007 consisting of 3-4 bedroom homes on 1/4 acre-1/2 acre lots with square footage ranging from 2,000-3,753. At the moment, there is just one home available for sale with a price of $420,000.
