Sometimes we consult the clouds to figure out what the weather condition will be.  This is not an exact science however we do it anyway.Here is an example of one of those times we will propably get it right.  The dark ominous clouds is almost a sure sign there will be a thunderstorm.At times this is a better way of forecasting the weather, than checking it online. 11/18/2015

Lilies comes in a variety of colors and types.  This a great species to add to your garden, and one that keeps giving year after year.Since  deer seem to love this plant,  I had to take steps to protect them so I would have the opportunity to appreciate the blooms.Go ahead and add several colors to your garden,  I  have orange, yellow and rose colors.What is your favorite lily colors?Imagine how welcoming your property for sale would be with some of the lily colors. 07/03/2015

This year I was pleased with the Forsythia bushes.  There were times in the last week when the sun hit these flowers  it was as if the entire hedge was on fire.Just below the Forsythia you will find the Pulmonaria which is more like a grown cover  offering blue and pink flowers.Have a great week and take time to enjoy the Spring colors.   05/03/2015

  The Red Hook NY real estate update in February 2015 showed 5 homes sold,  4 more than in February 2014.  The lowest priced home sold went for $215,000  a 1970's ranch, and the most expensive sold for $750,000  a 2006  contemporary home with  spectacular views. The homes new to the market in February ranged in price from $263,000-$995,000.  The smallest house was 1760 square feet and the largest 5400. There were 4 homes with offers and 3 in contract. Red Hook population according to data from Dutchess County is just over 13,000, this include the village. There are many small neighborhoods in this small town north  of New York City. The Echo Valley subdivision consist of homes built mostly in the 1990's, although there is a farmhouse from the 1800's. Red Hook NY 2014 home sales exceeded  2013   Although the year got off to a slow start in the Hudson Valley, the Red Hook NY real estate market bounced back. The crops have been harvested and the fields will lay bare until the next growing season.  The snow clad Catskill Mountains and even the sky gives every indication that winter is just around the corner. This was the scene looking towards Budds Corner,  Red Hook NY.   This street has several farms and is always a place of much activity   Some of the fresh produce you get in NYC originates here. 12/14/2014

  Red Hook Snowstorm This was the first snowstorm of the season in Red Hook.  Snow came down all day, and the trees were covered with heavy snow, most of them bending over due to the weight.  Although I was concern about the trees I had to admit the snow covered trees looked like a winter wonderland and was truly beautiful. I knew it would be a matter of time before the electricity would go out.  Some  people did not have their power back for an entire day. Walking around my property I was not happy with what I saw, broken branches, and trees down.  The dogwood trees sustained a lot of damage, and  the forsythia  was in full bloom which meant no spring flowers. The first snowstorm left its mark in Red  Hook but it was not as bad as in Buffalo.  No matter now terrible things might seem ... 11/28/2014

Of the homes sold, 1 sold for the list price and the remaining 4 at a reduction, one for as much as $85,000 less than the original list price.  The average sale price to list price came in at 93 percent.                             This was not a sunny day but the Fall colors still brightened the day. This burst of color was at the top of Old Post Road North, Red Hook NY.  Every year I look forward to this colorful corner and I hope I will get a chance to get another shot on a sunny day.         10/01/2014
