Living in Paine Heights, New Rochelle, I belong to our local Neighborhood Association,  and having listed a majestic home with wonderful architectural detailing in the Beechmont area of New Rochelle, (271 Beechmont Drive) I felt compelled to also write about their local Neighborhood Association. Aptly entitled, The Beechmont Association . As an aside, the very first Beechmont Association Meeting Minutes were printed on July 4th, 1904 stating ” As the pioneers of Beechmont, we desire to record our interest in our growth in the City of New Rochelle, believing that he who provides a home for self and family  is not only just with his own but also influences by his example to others, and that good citizenship is based upon a pure appreciation of domestic responsibilities, molding the pr...

SO, who lived in the house you are considering to purchase? Did an axe murderer (yikes, No!),  a movie star, a politican or perhaps a philanthropist previously reside there ? Ancestry.com  move aside!  I recently listed a beautiful  home at 271 Beechmont Drive in New Rochelle, 7 bedrooms, 3.2 baths,  4610 square feet, beautiful hardwood floors, an artist’s studio, library (and/or bedroom), a wonderful media room, and BRAND new central air conditioning, 0.36 of an acre  and all overlooking the Beechmont Lake .. While the home speaks for itself… how to market it? The owners mentioned in passing that the reason there is an artist’s studio is because a famous cartoonist once owned the home .  Oh my goodness, a blogger’s delight.. . I merrily sought out the previous owners’ names, a...

The Beechmont Lake area is a quiet, residential area in New Rochelle 10804.  Offering the George M. Davis Elementary School, close to parks, tennis, shopping and the trains, it has much to offer...  As does 29 Pryer Place. The Tudor featured 6 bedrooms, 3.1 baths, 3406 square feet and is located on 0.47 of an acre. I represented the buyers, and they are very excited about the move! There are currently 11 homes on the market for sale in the One Million to $1.3 Million dollar range, with 3 in contract, 1 pending and 7 sold with a median sales price of $1,170,000 and a price per spare foot of $356.12.     If you, or anyone you know is thinking about relocating to my neck of the woods, I will take good care of them.   New Rochelle is GREAT!

Yesterday, I went to visit a nice home in New Rochelle NY.  My new buyer is planning to move in there in August.  It's a large home.  And, it has hardwood almost everywhere - on all 3 floors...about 3,000 sf...but almost all of it is covered up. Now, it's often that I see carpet on top of hardwood, especially in homes where people have lived for 20-30 yrs.  But, my or my, every room in this house was a discovery (and most of the floors were there since the mid 80's or earlier.  Upstairs, the master bedroom room has carpet on top of hardwood.  Score.  The next bedroom has carpet on top of vinyl tile (okay, it costs more to remove 2 layers, but doable). The next room had carpet on top of sheet vinyl.  The 4th bedroom had carpet on top of asbestos tile (okay, that one was a bummer so most ...
