When in Ulster County stop by the Perrines Bridge: Perrines Bridge which is still standing, was built in 1844 and restored in 1993. It is built across the Walkill River in Rifton, just outside New Paltz. It is the oldest surviving covered bridge of its design in New York State. Built by Benjamin West the one lane bridge is a Burr Arch Bridge 154' long and 19.1' wide The bridge is located on Route 213. There are picnic tables in the area for your convenience. The Wallkill River is easily accessed for fishing and your viewing pleasure.
