I meant to write a post about a listing on 26 Story Hill Road, in the town of Chester NY and school district of Monroe-Woodbury. I put the home on the market on a Thursday afternoon, with the intent to spend some time the following day writing a blog about the property. But I never got around to it, because by Friday afternoon, the sellers had already accepted an offer at over list price, and had several backups in place. What specifically sold so fast? A two bedroom, two bath ranch style cottage on a two-acre lot. Several weeks ago a large group of us attended the comedy show at Jester's Comedy Club in Chester, NY.  They have been there for quite some time, we have just never found the time to go, or did not think of it at the right times. Now that we have been there we are sorry we have not gone sooner.  The comedians were hysterical!  The service was unbelievable.  The waiters and waitresses were on top of everything and no one wanted for anything.  We never had to wait and flag down anyone for service because drinks were sitting empty etc... If location speaks loudly, the village of Chester, NY in Orange County certainly has a lot to say. Though a small community (a low density population of 7,000 in 2010),  it is in the center of some of Orange County's most interesting features. For commuters to New York City, Interstate 87 is just 8 miles away on Hwy. 17. For recreation, Chester is  close to both Bear Mountain and Harriman State Parks, with their wealth of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, cross country skiing and nature trails.
