In 1995 Donald Trump purchased 213 acres of land in the north eastern quadrant of Westchester County. This land spans three different towns, North Castle, New Castle and Bedford, New York. The name of the property is Seven Springs and it cost him $7.5 million at the time. This property belonged to Eugene Meyer, a Washington Post Editor who was the father of Katherine Graham. Originally Trump planned an 18 hold golf course but residents of the area were not happy and so the plans changed to 15 new homes being built and two existing properties being renovated, 9 in North Castle and 8 in Bedford.
