New Las Vegas Waterpark:  Postponed Until 2013! In early February 2012, Splash Canyon announced via press release that the opening will be delayed until 2013.   I wasn’t very surprised as construction halted shortly after my December 2011 “New Las Vegas waterpark” update. Since this release, the county has widened Fort Apache Road.  So cheers to building infrastructure to handle traffic prior to getting this thing up and running!  I will post regular updates in the future when construction on the waterpark resumes! This is the view from my backyard yesterday morning as I woke up!  Hot air balloons are quite prolific this time of year in the outer reaches of SW Las Vegas near the mountains and in the open desert. This is located near the Rhodes Ranch area.  We moved to this area in 2002 when it was mostly desert and LOVE IT!  We used to have to "go to town" to the grocery store and the 215 freeway did not even exist!  Amazing how this is a thriving community in 9 years AND we still get to see the hot air balloons! 08/07/2011

Well my baby boy is moving back from Nebraska this weekend - in fact they are in St George, UT as we speak and I anticpate them within two hours. This was his goodbye dinner with my husband, sister, and her two children the night before they left.  Isn't my niece adorable beyond belief?  I also am very proud of my precious son and his little journey through life.  Would I be selfish if I said I am happy to have him "back?"  Although I am trying to get him and my daughter out into renting a house together, LOL.  Just when my husband and I have the sweet taste of "freedom" from the children - they come back home!  It will be a fun summer.  Maybe I will enjoy the moment, wait and start pushing them out by the end of summer, LOL 06/12/2011
