I had another interesting trip to the East Mountain area of Albuquerque to view some real estate last week. Our trip started at Sandia Knolls near NM 14 and Frost Road. We headed north about 14 miles on the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway then headed southeast on NM 344 a couple of miles. When we reached our destination we found the cutest little east mountain home.  I like gates. Here's a simple, rustic one that caught my eye on the property: The mountains you see in the background are the San Pedro Mountains. The first gold rush west of the Mississippi happened not too far from here.  There were some other surprises on the property, including this circa 1950 southwestern style mobile home: It was a beautiful late summer day in New Mexico, and we saw plenty of motorcyclists and b...

Sandia Park NM homes for saleare some of the most beautiful Albuquerque east mountain homes available. Sandia Park is located about 25 miles from Albuquerque, east of the Sandia Mountains on the road to Sandia Crest, and was the home of the 2010 HGTV Dream Home. About 3,500 people live in Sandia Park NM, a small community of about 1,400 homes. Mountain living is not for everyone, but the lucky few who live there enjoy the peaceful setting, the views and the proximity of the Sandia Ski Area. There are also many hiking trails in the Sandia Mountains located nearby. Currently there are 80 Sandia Park NM homes for sale ranging in price from $84,900 to $2,475,000. The average Sandia Park house is listed for sale for $574,070 and is 2,972 square feet. The average price per square feet is $184...

Here is an exciting story about the wonderful Paa-Ko Golf Course. I have played some great courses around the country, (and world) and Paa-Ko is great. We actually looked at lots on the course a few years ago. It is beautyfully done. The East Mountain area defenetly bennifits from having this facility. The Sandia Mountains sit at the Eastern edge of the Albuquerque metro area... and going East on I-40 "through the canyon" you'll find many neighborhoods, homes, and Real Estate we collectively refer to as "The East Mountains". This area is made up of various communities including Cedar Crest, Tijeras, and Sandia Park. The main road that travels north through this area and beyond to Santa Fe is The Turquoise Trail Scenic Byway. If you take this route from Albuquerque, it will take about 15-30 minutes longer than taking I-25, but is well worth it for the views, beautiful Real Estate, and the great little towns to visit along the way. Make plans to have lunch in Madrid (about 1/2 way there). It's an old mining town that now has many fun shops and great galleries.OK, Back to the East Mountai...
