Just give me a little piece of heaven, and I'm good. When we think we have troubles, what we go through on a daily basis is nothing compared to the armed forces serving over seas.   Here is an Army soldier in a "great big sand box". He asked his wife to send him some (U.S. Soil, some grass seed and some fertilizer). This is so he could have the sweet aroma and feel of grass growing beneath his feet. When the men in the squadren have a mission to go on, they take turns walking through the grass and American soil to bring them good luck. Of all the things he asked his wife to send him, it was "American soil". If you notice, he is even cutting the grass wit a pair of scissors....Sometimes we are in such a hurry, that we don't take the time to appreciate the things we take for granted.   Af... 07/18/2011

Warranty's, are they worth the paper they are written on? This is the question. After all the looking into actual warranties, it seems they are not worth a dime. This all started with the ordering of two trees from a North Carolina grower.  They come with a "full year total replacement guarantee" If the trees die within the first year of receiving them they will replace them free of charge. Not. After we received the trees, they were in the twilight of life. They had sat in a shipping warehouse for nearly a week. They were not watered and was just a twig when we received them. Even the leaves had fallen off. We immediately called the grower and then was directed to the web site. We filed the claim fully expecting to get replacement trees sent out post hast. This has been a long sought after question with no definitive answers, except the occasional shake of the head.  I am not mad at woman, not at all but if you look at the history of woman you will find all types of trouble caused by them. The only person that is with us our entire lives is ourselves.   LIVE, while you are alive. 2. Surround yourselves with what you LOVE: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies you home is you refuge.  3. Cherish your health. If it is good preserve it. If it is unstable improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. 4. Don't take guilt trips. Road rage, and how it effects even mother nature. We have all been there. Someone tick's you off by doing something stupid while driving down the highway. When on the road you might want to think of being a little more courteous to others. "This just might happen to you if you don't pay attention to who has the right of way". One billion dollars available for refinancing homes. According to this information the United States Housing and Urban Development has made one billion dollars available for refinancing of homes in risk of foreclosure. Hud and Neighborworks America announces This "EMERGENCY HOMEOWNERS HELP PROGRAM" Or referred to as (EHLP) will help struggling homeowners at risk of foreclosure. I have seen posts where there are some areas that over 50% of home for sale are in "short sale" or starting the "Foreclosure process". These funds can and will help homeowners fight foreclosure. The fires that have plagued Eddy county in the past week are nearly extinguished. This fire had reached up to 50,000 acres and we were lucky. The winds had shifted and blew the fire south west. Bad news was it blew it towards the National Park and Whites city. Both had to be evacuated for at least a day. Even the highway to El Paso Texas was closed for a day. Many thanks to all the fire fighters that helped in putting out the fires. We now have a sigh of relief. 06/15/2011

Here are a few pictures of the home I inspected . The builder was from the "ship building business", so the home has a "nautical theme/decor". I liked the "ROPE" guard rail" and the ceiling fan that looks like a "propeller". Here's a view from the second floor to the living room. I couldn't really get back far enough to get a wide angle shot. Even with the  "scene" mode. This is the Crows Nest" the third floor of the home. It's great for reading or a artist's work area. There's another "Fire" in the canyon. And this one is only about three mile from my house. We have had no rain here for over eight months. Fire can start up just from the heat that has been over 100 for thre weeks in a row. today, about 105. Tom. 107. Be careful out there. This fire is about three mile from my house. Geodesic Home Inspection complete. Yes even the dog house was a Geodesic design. The Geodesic designed home here in Carlsbad, New Mexico  I inspected Saturday morning was a challenge. not only was the home a Geodesic design but it also had an apartment added to it. And yes you guessed it, it was also a Geodesic design.   This was a great inspection. There was the buyers and the agent for a short time. the agent left after telling me that the home had been inspected at least three times. Nothing ha been found during those inspections. Good I thought, I wouldn't have a hard time inspecting the home. The screens on the enclosure was disclosed on the homeowners disclosure statement. the deck needs minor work. Note the garage to the back of the home. "It's up to us as Home Inspectors to find the best results for the client's, even if they don't like the results". As a home inspector we try to find defects, not to simply a "see I told you so" but as " this home has these defects". Things you just don't say at an interview. I have a friend that had an inter view for a new job. He really wanted the job. But a the interview went on, the HR director asked if he could repair all kinds of cars not just domestic. Then he told him "I thought domestic was a beer". Needless to say he didn't get the job. Here is some more things not to say at an interview. For a job with the railroad, do you have any railroad experience? "Well, yes I do. I have had a Lionel train since I was six years old".  For a job in a day care. Do you like to be around children? "Not really, but my mom said I had to get a job and a life".   A job as a teller in a bank, can you handle cash? "Oh yeah, I have a lot of pocket's"  For a truck driving job. Success in the Rain. There I was sitting watching the news when my cell phone rang. You just never know who it might be. The caller had sent me a e-mail asking what the cost would be for an inspection on a "Geodesic home". Wow , I was thinking there are not that many Geodesic homes around here. It will be fun. So I shot back an E-mail informing him of the fee's involved with the inspection. Then several days went by no word. Then "the call", he wanted the inspection. It's set up for saturday at nine am. It will be the Realtor, the buyer and myself. All te utilities are still on and the home is vacant. I asked where did you get my number, he said "I got it from the Active Rain site where you post blogs". This should be an interesting inspection.
