AMERICAN FLAG “planting” is an annual event of Century 21 Crest Real Estate in Pompton Plains.  Each year our office purchases over 2000 American Flags that are placed along the 2.8 mile stretch of Newark Pompton Turnpike and Jackson Avenue in Pequannock Township.  Our Realtor agents, friends and family volunteer to walk and hand place the American Flags and will be doing this again on Thursday, May 24th.  This year, Boy Scout group 144 will also be assisting us in this event. We started this tradition over 10 years ago when one of our agents, Colleen McMahon, observed a patriotic display of flags in a local Bergen County town.  She brought the idea to our Broker, Patricia Wojtyszyn, who immediately agreed that it was an excellent way for our office to participate in the Memorial Day eve...

Resident asks to change description of Pequannock on official website Sunday, May 30, 2010 BY STEVE JANOSKI Suburban Trends STAFF WRITER Resident Rocco Salluce approached the Township Council at its May 25 meeting to ask why Pequannock's official website says that the township is comprised of two communities. According to Salluce, the township website says that Pequannock is a "political subdivision of the State of New Jersey and encompasses two communities, Pequannock and Pompton Plains." "I'm not aware of this," he said. "A lot of people seem to think that we have two towns here - Pequannock and Pompton Plains. "This is the Township of Pequannock, and Pompton Plains... happens to be a section of Pequannock, and that should be made very clear to everybody here," he said. "If anybody wa...

The difference between Pequannock and Pompton Plains, NONE! It's one town, Pompton Plains is a section in Pequannock Township. Today's Sunday Trends had an article about a resident questioning why the town website stated two communities, when in fact we are ONE community. We pay taxes to the Township of Pequannock, not Township of Pompton Plains.  Our school district has 3 Elementary Schools, 1 of which is in Pequannock and 2 in Pompton Plains, 1 Middle School and Pequannock Township High School, which are located in Pompton Plains. 2 Post Offices, 2 Fire Departments, 1 Police Department etc... While there will be questions to why the Township was set up with 2 sections, who really knows but when everyone takes into consideration that our Town supports eachother no matter what area you ...

Who said there's no houses selling in Pequannock & Pompton Plains?  Below are the most recent home sales in Pequannock Township since January 1, 2010 to April 30, 2010. Both private & mulitple listing sales are used. Has the Tax Credit helped?  Yes, and we'd love to see the Federal Government "EXTEND THE TAX CREDIT", Keep the credit going, it has helped the housing market, especially for the first time home buyers. Information taken from Morris County Tax Board & GSMLS websites. Century 21 Crest Real Estate may have assisted in the homes sales.

About 10 years ago I was driving through an area in Bergen County showing some homes when I drove down a street that was lined with AMERICAN FLAGS, it was so BEAUTIFUL! So PATRIOTIC! It was coming up to Memorial Day and this was such a huge inspiration that I asked my broker if we could do that to our Turnpike. She immediately agreed and off to work we went, ordering AMERICAN FLAGS, organizing volunteers to walk the 2.8 miles of the Newark Pompton Turnpike in Pequannock Township. We had no problem getting volunteers. We placed over 2,000 AMERICAN FLAGS along the Turnpike as well as Jackson Ave. in Pompton Plains and now this THURSDAY, MAY 27, 2010 we will be back again walking the Turnpike and placing the AMERICAN FLAGS in Honor of all the service men & women who have dedicated their l...

We must blame the media for all the negative publicity. Everyone needs to live somewhere. Housing is one of the essential things families need. A roof over their heads, a safe place to be. While buyer's now have more power when purchasing their homes, we as realtor's hope to educate our seller's to be more flexible with the pricing of their homes when putting them on the market. Below you'll find recent home sales in Pequannock Township, New Jersey. Our location to New York City is ideal for the commuters and fits almost every buyer's pocketbook. From the inexpensive home to the higher price homes. Ideally if seller's would come on board with the reality that there are buyer's for their homes but just not willing to spend what buyer's spent in 2005, we'd be moving homes quicker. I'm fin...
