Two or three years ago it was common knowledge that the real estate market wasn't going to recover until 2011. Last year, the common knowledge expectation was extended to 2012. Earlier this year, we were hearing 2014 and most recently, some experts have stated that they don't expect the real estate market to recover until 2015 or beyond. NY Times while this is not great news it is important so people who want to sell know that home prices from the past are not coming back soon and for buyers what are you waiting for? According to Otteau Valuation Group http://www.otteau.com/index.aspx  home prices will not fall as much as before and will start to level out so what does that mean? if you are going to sell do it now because home prices will not go up until 2013-2017; if you are buying now is the time because of the inventory, interest rates and home prices are not going to lose much value and will go back up so if you plan to be in your home for 5 to 10 years you should be ok. http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,2076568,00.html
