Streetlights are put up for convenience, safety and security. Whether it is on a public street or private lot, a streetlight or area light is there for a reason, is being paid for, and should be lit at night. Streetlights are paid for by either the roadway "owner" (Town, County, State) or the property owner where the pole resides. Those in business know there is a separate charge on their bill for any street or area lights they have requested be put in place. Free or Low Cost CEU classes available for Monmouth & Ocean NJ EMT-Bs in May 2010 NJ EMT-Bs are required to have 24 hours of required (aka CORE), and an additional 24 hours of elective continuing education (CEU) classes, for each re-certification period. Nationally Registered EMT-Bs (NREMT-B) need the same 24 CORE hours, plus an additional 48 hours of elective CEUs every 2 years. Until Governor Corzine's crew raided the NJ Emergency Medical Technician Training Fund (EMTTF), the costs for the courses were nominal for the Volunteer EMT. Now the EMTTF cannot afford payments for Elective CEU classes. This converts to $10/hour or more that is now the EMT's responsibility... The snow and sleet are being blown by 30+mph gusts and we're all a bit surprised the meeting is not postponed, but driving isn't really that bad (apparently everybody else was smart enough to hide indoors!)
