The 2nd annual Manchester citywide marathon is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2008 beginning at 8:30 am. This year both the ½ Marathon and full will take place. along with a kids marathon. Registration is now open and limited to the 1st 2,000 runners, so please register early. Last year was sold out and this year even with the expansion of additional runners is sure to do the same. The route is considered by all to be a very challenging course with many hills. While the great fall foliage will be an additional attraction, the city itself offers history, dining and just a great place to live!

With the high price of gasoline, walkable listings are becoming more popular than they have been in a long time. Buyers are now checking for conveniences! Convenience stores for bread, milk, and other incidentals, schools, banks,  anything that will save on gas. and of course the upsideto that is, good for your health, lessens yoru stress level, and often enhance your mood. I live in a great private and quiet area, with 20 some odd  homes on a street ending on a cul de sac.  The street is about one mile long yet 15 minutes from the all of NH.  I love the area.  (Just last week I took a picture of a turkey buzzard high up in a tree,a real treat when your love nature, I wish I could insert it for you to see)shopping, but when I leave my home, I do everything in one trip;  I do  grocery sh...

Today I journeyed to the Manchester, NH VA Hospital to attend the "Welcome Home" ceremony for our soldiers recently returned home from Iraq.My husband, Mike, and I sing in an ensemble called "vox jubilante" which means joyous voices. We were asked to sing for this event where many dignitaries from the state including Governor Lynch would be in attendance. The time for our appearance was scheduled from 11:45am to 1:00pm. When we arrived at 11:00am the room was crowdedwith people chatting, raffle tables selling their chances and a band playing. There were men in wheelchairs and scooters as well as men and women in uniforms. Many volunteers wore their red t-shirts so they were easily identified. We left the room to go warm up. We returned to a room with very few people? We had no idea where t...

In recently passing through the Manchester Memorial HS area, atthe corner of Weston Rd and South Jewett St. I noticed the sign pictured below:I am not sure what "The Electronics Ban - Now In Effect" means but I have to say the whole concept of a computer drive is an awesome idea.  I have a pile of old computers and tech equipment from a former life in my basement that my wife is dying to see go away.  I have never been real thrilled with the idea of scrapping them, since they pretty much still worked.  I knew that there had to be a way to get them into the hands of someone who would benefit from them.  Now I see just that opportunity. For more information check Donation Networks website for more information.  Your donation may be tax deductible!Hope to see you at the computer Drive on Sa...

What is market absorption? It is a mathematical approach to determine the rate at which inventory is "absorbed"(engulfed wholly) into the market. Inventory is the number of homes for sale in the market.A division of homes sold on average over the last 12 months, 6 months and then 3 months will determine the rate at which homes are being sold. This is helpful to the seller who is thinking of selling or currently has a home to sell. If you know statistically how long to expect to market your home for sale, then you won't be as "stressed" about selling it. In the Manchester NH area for a single family home the number of months to sell a home is:   5.9849246 months.Keep in mind that:6 months supply= Balanced MarketLess than 6 months supply= Sellers MarketMore than a 6 months supply= Buyers ...

I have been learning about real estate blogging.  I have read the articles, searched the web and talked to the hosts of other web bloggs. What I have learned is that I have been doing this all wrong.  I need to make frequent short entries. I have decided that I will treat my blogg as a "release" to my day to day issues as well as give opinion and insight into the real estate market.   Today's thoughts are focused on IT"S A GREAT TIME TO BUY REAL ESTATE!  The inventory is diverse, the negotiations are fierce, and the interest rates are still relatively good. I found a lake front two story, 1500 sq ft home, contemporary home listed for $229,900. I saw a home listed in Manchester NH for $225,900 sell for $175,000. I found interest rates ranging  from 6.25% to 6.75%.  All of this combined ...
