This is a super Madison NH bank owned home value! The 0.4 acre land for sale with septic system, well and poured concrete foundation with walk out basement is worth the price without even figuring in the price! Yes, the house needs some serious rehab. but the systems function and the place appears to be sound.   Madison NH has been more stable than Ossipee NH real estate but this is the most drastic pricing I have seen in the genral North Conway NH real estate market. I am hopping mad!!!!! I don't understand why our government let things get to the point where we're at!  I live in the most wonderful, beautiful, scenic place in the whole world, and I can't sell it!  WHY?  Because people are so scared right now, that no one is capable of making the decision of purchasing anything that is considered "luxury" - we live in a predominantly vacation-home area, and it is hurting us badly.  I personally have had three lost sales in the past 2 weeks as a result of the "fear-monger media"...people really do think the media has all the answers! If you've never sat in the midst of a patch of blueberry bushes and enjoyed the delicious anticipation of picking wild blueberries, this may not mean much to you. But one of the delights of going to the mountains of New Hampshire for vacation – for me, at least – is picking wild blueberries, freezing them, and bringing them home to become mid-winter blueberry muffins, pies, and cobblers. I know you can get "blueberries" in the grocery store, but to me those factory-farm-grown gigantic puffs are tasteless in comparison to their wild cousins. The real thing grows on bushes that may be knee high (high bush) or only a few inches off the ground (low bush.) Yesterday's report from the New Hampshire Association of Realtors reported that home sales in NH were up about 2.4% in February. The Maine Association of Realtors reported a similar stat for Feb. and also noted that the median sale price in Feb. 06 was $185,000, while in Feb. 2007 the median sale price was $200,000. So, why, with numbers like these do I have to start my day with Good Morning America reporting information that is bound to slow buying? GMA had a story, like many other news outlets, about the housing slump. National stats show that Feb. 07 was actually down 2+/-%. However, the only report the bad news and do not put it in perspective: Housing costs are and always have been a regional issue.To look at home sale stats nationally is like shopping for the best priced gas in NH... 03/27/2007
