    Everybody loves the Fair! A few weeks ago we attended the Hopkinton Fair in Contoocook. New Hampshire.The temperature had been very hot for this time of year so we all decided to try the Fair at night!I live quite close to the Fairgrounds so my husband, brother, sister-in-law, niece and I grabbed the baby's stroller....and off we went! During our recent outing to Gould Hill Orchards in Contoocook we were very pleasantly surprised to stumble upon "The Little Nature Museum" A Hidden Jewel  The Little Nature Museum was established in 1955 in Winthrop MA, by Sandra W. Martin. She is its Founder and Director. It was in Weare NH for 31 years and relocated to Gould Hill in 2000.Sandra is an experienced Science teacher and Naturalist. As a child she was educated in Science throughthe Science program at the Boston Museum of Science.                              Here is Sandra with my husband Geoff...he's headed in to look at fluorescent minerals under Black-light. Hopkinton NH Real Estate Report August 2010 We are looking at homes sold data for the last four years verses the last twelve months to determine the state of the market in Hopkinton NH.  There were 72 homes sold with average days on market at 98.  2007 saw 64 homes sold and were on the market for a whopping 175 days.  With the recession in place in 2008, 60 homes sold and spent 151 days on the market.  While the Federa Home Buyer Tax Credit was established to prop up a sagging national market in 2009, 69 homes sold and agian days on market was long at 175 days.  In the last twelve months 59 homes have sold with average days at 122.   Hopkinton NH Real Estate Average Sales Price The average sales price was $320,099 in 2006 and fell 9% in 2007 to $291,045.  2008 saw average price dip slig... 09/13/2010

  Well today we actually made it out to the Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum! But I'll save that for another day!   After the Museum we decided to stop for an ice-cream and a bit of sight seeing at a local spot... ~   Beach Hill Farm in Hopkinton NH   ~              What a great place to bring the kids on a sunny weekend.  Beech Hill has a small petting zoo with baby goats,  cows, sheep and fowl. I especially go for goats! In 1983 a non-profit organization known as The New Hampshire Community Loan Fund was founded. Their goal was affordable loans and housing for low to moderate income citizens of NH. Their financing model was established in 1984 when the Sisters of Mercy loaned them $43,000 (at low interest). That money was loaned to 13 families in Meredith who lived in a manufactured housing park and wanted to purchase the park from its aging owners. This was the first NH Co-Op....one of many to come.
