Ahhh....those were the days! They were better than horse and buggy...and no parking meters! Well times have sure changed! After years of constant complaints about the availability and cost of downtown parking. And after a long standing love/hate relationship between those who park-and the promoters of the underused, new, state of the art Parking Garage.....Concord is going the way of Manchester....Concord has resorted to Kiosks! They will be up and operational by September 1st Efficiant and accurate collection of fees....I'm sure they'll fill the bill. Aesthetically....not so much! And where to chain the bike or tie the dog when running in for just a minute? I suppose change is inevitable...that's usually how it goes. But do we have to welcome it with open arms? Be prepared! The kiosks ...

This past Friday, November 14th 2008, the Concord NH Board of Realtors held its Annual Charity Auction. This years proceeds were to benefit, for the second year in a row, The Womens Rape and Domestic Violence Center. The auction was held at the Holiday Inn, downtown Concord. The Fund Raising Favorite started around 11:00 with registration and an Auction Preview. There were many great items....including lots of fun Gift Baskets. The item of most interest was a sharp looking Old Towne Kayack! It was very popular! There was a brief Business Meeting and then to the "fun".... We had a delicious Buffet Lunch and a cash bar!  Hmmm all of those people standing there are from my office!        Our enthusiastic Auctioneer, Paul Wilmott has generously donated his services every year to this wort...

I often refer to the Millbrook Gallery as Concord's best kept secret. It is a delightful place with ever changing exhibits (indoors and out). They feature local artists, host exhibits, partake in community events and offer a delightful escape for a Sunday afternoon! This past weekend we went so that we could see some of the new outdoor exhibits....before Winter comes!   WOOLLY MAMMOUTH-Bob Shannahan This is the guy I really wanted to see! He is life size and very impressive! He is made of cranberry, cattail, white clover, alder and sedge grass. His "toenails" are stones  It's in the eyes       This is called (of all things) THE HAND                          THE CROWS-B Kirkpatrick The artist really captured the angular edginess of crows....ready to swoop!            Granite and Bronze P...

There are those of you who may think I have a personal relationship or stock shares in the Mill Brook Gallery......I can assure you that is not the case! I just happen to really like the place. We took a trip out there this past weekend (I will share the pictures in a later Blog) and I picked up some information on an "Event" next Saturday (October 11th ) being sponsored by the Concord Chamber of Commerce ( 224-2508). It is a "round robin" type of event great for the whole family and art lovers of all ages. Several area businesses are displaying art for the Public to view. There will be raffles, and refreshments at selected sites! (The gallery is having make your own sundaes) There will be maps available at all ...

Having lived in this Community for over 20 years I know you will be able to make a wonderful home for your Family! Here is a short Virtual Tour I made of my Home Town....I think you'll enjoy it!   You said that you have not secured financing yet so when we meet I will give you a list of Lenders I have come to know and trust. We must go through this step of pre-qualification before I can show you properties.    Concord is New Hampshire's Capitol City_____ As such it is a hub of Political activity and notoriety. The First in the Nation Primary brings many political wanna bees -famous and not so famous- to our Main Street and corner stores. The people in the area take this power to "meet and great" very seriously. Our House of Representatives numbers between 375-400 members, representing every district in the State. This is a true reflection of public service in that they each receive only $200 compensation per year. Our Representative Hall is the oldest chamber in the US still in continuous Legislative use. But for those of us who live here...there is another side of Concord. Neighborhoods! These neighborhoods have their own Community Centers, Churches, Parks, Pools and Grammar schools. This nei...
