Amherst Patriots Pee Wees are State Champions 2011, Congratulations to a great team for a hard fought state title. The Amherst Patriots Pee Wees, the top seeded team,  earned the State Championship on November 9, 2011.  For the third time in a row, an Amherst NH Patriot Pee Wee team has earned the NH Pop Warner title. This advanced the team towards the New England Title, but the team was stopped in Worcester on November 26; the Mount Hope Cowboys triumphed over the Patriots with a score of 25-6. The Pee Wees Football Division consists of 9-12 year olds competing to advance to the next level.  Players are advancing their coordination skills, self confidence and level of intensity in the game. NH Food Pantry needs help. Our office manager heard on the radio about the shortage of funds and food in the local food pantries and Thanksgiving is on the way.  She said she heard $25 is all it takes to provide a Thanksgiving dinner to a local family of 4. A group of us were in the office and decided to send out an email to all of our agents and see what we could do in collecting $25 checks for the local SHARE. Seems we have some competitive NH Realtors onboard; there have been a bunch of emails circulating, if we get 100% participation of all agents, one will double hers to $50, then someone else jumped in and said she would double the first double and take it to $100.  And there are still emails popping back and forth. Well the long awaited Amherst NH real estate property tax bills are out in Amherst NH.  We had a revaluation in town and property values are down of course. They are all over the place in terms of percentage of decreases in valuation.  I have seen them drop less than 10% to over 30% in value.  Then I  am hearing how happy Amherst home owners are that the values have dropped because they think the tax bills are going down. Well most of us in the business understand that a drop in the value of the Amherst NH property, doesn't mean the tax bill is going down.   The town tax rate will increase so the town can collect the same amount of money to pay their bills. Well that freak October snow storm was a doozy. We got about 20" of snow on trees that were still heavily leaved and the damage is significant.  Some areas look like a war zone. We got power back first at our Amherst NH real estate office.  We had agents here drinking coffee, taking showers, chatting and just staying warm.  We are hoping our Bedford NH real estate office regains power and cable today.
