Winter in Amherst, NH REALLY wants to stick around.  I was just calling it a night when I was struck by how much snow is falling outside my window.  The forecast now says we are in the 12" zone and the worst is yet to arrive.  Really??  So, maybe in Amherst, NH, April Snow Showers Bring May Flowers.   Every Vote Counts in Amherst, NH If you’ve ever wondered whether filling in a small circle on a ballot really could be a swing vote, wonder no more.  Town Election Day in Amherst, NH was Tuesday, March 8th.  It was a miserable, rainy day and many town roads were closed due to local flooding.  Folks who went to the polls on Tuesday should be commended because the extra effort to cast votes was a bit over-the-top, even for die-hard New Englanders. Article 26 on this year’s ballot is a terrific example of why your vote really counts.  Article 26 called for the lease or purchase of a new rescue pumper for the Town’s fire department.  When the polls closed on Election Day, the vote was tied at 1022-1022.  The recount occurred this week and the numbers changed, but not the results;  1023-10... 03/19/2011

Here in New Hampshire we are so ready for Spring market, we are working on our new listings and it is sad we have to put them out there with these snow photos on the outside.  A couple of my sellers have not been able to put their hands on outside digital pics with green grass and nice landscaping shots to use in the listings. Antique Amherst NH Real Estate Office Front Porch, Then and Now Our Amherst NH real estate office is the old Station Master's home.  Harry Heath had it custom built in 1901.  It's a Craftsman Style (called a Four Square) and has the most delightful front porch.  We rock, we have meetings, we share a cup of tea or afternoon lemonade and Yup, we even get together in the late day for wine occasionally.   Thursday is Buy Local Day – InSideNH focuses on Amherst, NH  Coffee Shops and Coffee Roasters and salutes A&E Coffee and Tea   Ahhhh, Coffee.  Around the world, so many of us start (and end) our day with a cup ‘o Joe.  I’m with ya!  I love that first cup of coffee….and usually take my first sip standing at the counter beside the pot.  I actually tried a diet one time that was “anti-coffee”.  What!  That lasted 2 days. Just like research that shows drinking a glass of wine each day can have positive health impacts, drinking coffee, in moderation, has positive impacts on my well-being.   As a corollary, I think my friends and family appreciate the “happier Caroline” after I have coffee in the morning!
