Waxhaw NC Real Estate Market Second Quarter 2012—Four Facts It's time to look at the real estate market in Waxhaw NC and to assess how home buyers and home sellers fared during the first quarter of 2012. Here are four facts about the Waxhaw marketplace in April to June 2012. The median closed price of $273,000 was 4.59% higher than the first quarter median price and 16% higher than the 2011 median price. Twenty five percent more homes sold in the second quarter than in the first quarter. At 34% of all sales, new construction represented a significant portion of sales in Waxhaw during the second quarter. Distressed sales represented less than 20% of sales. Take a drive along the landscaped parkway into Union County’s The Reserve neighborhood and you’ll pass grassy open spaces with a pretty lake.  You’ll love the views there but the sight at the end of the parkway will astonish you.  Why?  The parkway ends at a large area dominated by a North Carolina Champion Tree.  It’s the largest willow oak in the state and it is truly a magnificent sight.  This tree is about 85 feet tall and 25 feet in circumference.  The tree has been preserved by the homeowners association at The Reserve in the common area adjacent to the community clubhouse and pool.
