August 2015  showed a \solid  performance  for home sales in the Waxhaw area of the Charlotte  metro area (the 28173 zip  code--encompassing Waxhaw, Weddington, and Marvin). The average sale price of Waxhaw area homes increased by 5.8% to just under $405,000 versus August 2014, while median days on market for property listings dropped by 19 days to 35 days, a 35.2% improvement over the same period last year. Price per square foot also increased by 5.8% to $110/square foot during August 2015 versus August 2014.  Closed sales in the Waxhaw/Weddington/Marvin areas decreased slightly in August 2015 with 30 fewer homes closing.
