Old County Courthouse in Monroe NC Like most southern small towns, the heart of Monroe NC’s downtown is its public square surrounding the Old County Courthouse.  Monroe’s courts have moved on to a new building nearby, but the beautiful old courthouse still shines in the center of the city.
