Located just a short 25 minutes from uptown Charlotte is the historic Town of Mint Hill. This rural community of 19,000 residents is tucked into a corner of Mecklenburg and Union Counties, and blends in nicely with the surrounding countryside. Mint Hill's origins date back to the 1740's at about the time that Scottish and Irish settlers arrived in the Charlotte area. The area also displays the strong influence of German colonists who arrived at about the same time. The town still has a strong Scottish influence, annual Highland Games Celebration, and is very proud of its historical heritage. The Mint Hill area has undergone a growth surge in the past decade, brought on by the Charlotte metro area which is the fifth largest urban region in the nation. Charlotte has an abundance of arts a...

Farmwood in Mint Hill NC—Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Profile Click here for an update to the 2010 real estate market in Farmwood. Farmwood is Mint Hill NC’s classic neighborhood.  Construction began in Farmwood in the mid-1970s and continued through the early 1990s.  Large wooded lots ranging from a half acre to over an acre on wide streets provide a beautiful setting for Farmwood homes.  The earliest Farmwood homes were mostly traditional brick ranches, two-stories and tri-levels.  Some were basement homes where the slope of the lots accommodated them.  As the years passed and home styles changed, country-style homes with big friendly front porches and wood siding were built.  The most recently built Farmwood homes tended to be large two-story colonials with transitional interiors....

"I am the best Realtor in town!  Why can't anyone figure it out?"  (frustrated Charlotte Realtor) Michael Bloomberg, the current Mayor of New York City, came to fame as the founder of Bloomberg, LP.  His company builds and maintains data terminals for members of the financial community who need access to real-time financial data.  He built this from nothing to a $10B+ company in around 20 years.  He is obviously an astute and extremely successful businessman who knows a thing or two about serving up data, both to his customers and to the press.  Let me explain. Bloomberg knew that favorable media coverage was extremely important to the growth of his business.  So, he had to figure out a way to make sure that all (or at least most) of the news stories about Bloomberg, LP were positive. ...
