A wonderful small town with the perfect place to downsize. I'm talking about the town of Jamestown, North Carolina, nestled between it's big siblings, Greensboro and High Point. When referring to the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina, most folks think of Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point, but overlook Jamestown. Jamestown was settled in the late 18th century, by Quakers moving from Pennsylvania. Its most famous resident was James Mendenhall, who's son founded the Village of Jamestown and named it in honor of his father. James' son Richard, built the Mendenhall Plantation, which still stands and is a popular tourist attraction. Jamestown played a roll in both the Revolutionary War and The Civil War.
