Be kind to the grumpy. Everyone is fighting some kind of battle. I have always tried to be cheery and happy despite things going wrong in my life, even in hard times. But lately it seems like everyone has been so grumpy, everywhere I go. I find myself repeating old isms my parents used to repeat about how much nicer people were when they were young, or how much better it was when... But lately I have been trying hard to stop with the old isms and understand that in this kind of economy, everyone is going to be grumpy. Most people are scared to death, most all of us are fighting some kind of battle. A few times in the last couple of weeks I found myself so aggravated that I actually snapped back at a sales person, after trying really hard on two separate trips to deal with an issue. I co...

Every day we make spending decisions based on what we can afford.  Just about everyone has had to reduce or cut out certain goods and services to live.  It’s never easy to discuss finances let alone cut certain things that we feel or believe we are entitled to. Now imagine being a county commissioner in a room full of people waiting to share why there department can’t withstand a 7.5% cut, the amount needed to balance the 2011-2012 budget. I’m not talking about choosing to buy strawberries this week and orange juice next week like we sometimes have to do in the Sitton household. The conversations at Monday’s budget workshop were much more important.  We’re talking cuts in: ·        Law enforcement which would reduce the amount of patrol officers on duty and longer response times to 911 ...

Our Southern Community in Hendersonville Class on Photovoltaics Last night I attended a class at Our Southern Community on the Basics of Photovoltaics, taught by Ned Doyle. It was a great beginners class, and he had real hands on equipment that taught us how it all worked by looking at real wired equipment. Ned was a great teacher, answering questions and giving real life examples of the benifits and possible dangers involved in home systems. My only sadness was that there were only four attendees in the class. I hope that as time goes on, more people will hear about these great classes and attendance will increase. Check Our Southern Community's Website for more information on the classes they hold. Future classes will have topics like Native Plants, Building an Electric Vehicle, How H...

I stumbled across this photo tonight after having a conversation with an agent that I have much respect for and who happens to be my competition.  We’re both passionate about proving outstanding customer service.  We’re both energetic, have high ethical standards, and believe in surrounding ourselves with positive people.  We’re self motivated, we advertise, blog, make videos, communicate effectively with our clients and we’re friends who can hold each other accountable. Tonight we talked about why some agents are more successful than others.  We both agreed successful agents regardless of what firm they worked for exhibit and possess the following: Positive and creative thinking, time management skills, communications skills, proper pricing and presentation of listings, they volunteer ...

When I took my 2 dog kids out the other night before going to bed the natural Mountain Laurel which is blooming seemed to be glowing and shimmering in the night light.  Even the pansies seemed to be lit up.  It was so pretty I had to see if I could get a picture. Here the Mountain Laurel is in daylight.  I have no idea how old they are as they were part of the woods before the house was put in and the woods cut back. Like fluffy snowballs. For info on Hendersonville and Western NC listings and real estate information visit Robin's Website. Sue of Robin and Sue

Before staging this one-level townhome located just 1.3 miles from Historic Downtown Hendersonville felt cold and vacant.  Vacant properties scream “desperate to sell!” since the owner has moved out.  Now you can see what life would be like if this were your home.  Here is just a peak at the before and after pictures:

Red Day 2011 with Keller Williams Realty was a HUGE success all over the country this year. This is an annual international event in which all Keller Willams Real Estate offices participate. With the idea of Give Where You Live, each office chooses areas to donate labor and resources to the community for a full day. Locally the Keller Williams Mountain Partners Office ran four projects this year. The 'Spruced Up' the 7th Avenue Train Depot area with landscaping, worked with the The Little Red School House with landscaping and cleaning. They also assisted two home owners in cleaning and yard work. This is the third year for Red Day with Keller Williams, and each year has been a bigger success. Are you Giving Where You Live?
