As an agent in Fuquay Varina I am often asked about local buildings that are being built.  I am also expected to be up to date with all stores that are opening in town. Well, I have good news... Kohls; our up and coming department store is scheduled to be opened in October!  I can't wait to have another place to buy shoes!!  Not to mention all of the other wonderful items that Kohls sells. For those of you who haven't been through downtown lately the Starbucks and Verizon store have opened for business as well.  Although I haven't had the opportunity to go to Verizon yet, I have already been to Starbucks to try it out!  The staff there was wonderful and very patient with me.  As I am not an educated coffee drinker, I just know I like it frozen  :) Regarding other construction in Fuquay ...

Prized by its residents for its "small town" feel, Fuquay-Varina remains true to its historical roots. Two communities grew together around the development of the local transportation network and tobacco farming, a combination that established them as trading centers for southern Wake and neighboring Counties. Since their separate foundings and eventual union in 1963, Fuquay-Varina has continued to grow and develop within the context of its rural settings and in response to the inevitable changes brought by time. This document aims to present a logical and sustainable transportation plan for Fuquay-Varina, its citizens, and its business community. Some long-time inhabitants, observing the town's recent growth in development and traffic, cannot help but ponder, "When did Fuquay-Varina...

If you haven't heard already, Fuquay Varina, NC..... pronounced few quay is projected to TRIPLE in size in the next few years.  It is getting a lot of help from a new subdivision named South Lakes.  Fuquay is a sleepy town just south of downtown Raleigh, in fact, one road....401 South will get you from Downtown Raleigh to Fuquay Varina within 20 minutes depending on traffic.  I should know...I live in between Fuquay and Raleigh and consider myself "very informed" on the southern part of Wake County.  The developer of South Lakes....Impact Properties has improvised and proceeded to make this subdivision the first master planned community the town has seen and will be THE subdivision to buy a new home.  Preservation Homes and Biltmore Homes are just two of the builders so far showing off ...

Just a few years ago you may have taken a Sunday drive on 401 South leading away from downtown Raleigh and not seen too much but farmland, some cattle and a guy on a tractor going about 10 miles per hour holding up traffic.....one or two cars.  This area of Southern Wake County would kind of remind you of Hazzard County we all used to watch every Friday night back in the day just before the Love Boat and Fantasy Island...yeah, you remember.  But now, when you take that ride down 401 there are many neighborhoods on either side of the road leading to a booming intersection called 401 and Ten Ten.  About ten minutes up the road is Fuquay Varina (few-quay).  Fuquay is a small town with a lot of history and along with Holly Springs just West of it, are grabbing a lot of new residents that 10...

I thought the name was very funny when I first started showing houses in this area.  This beautiful community is located just south of Cary and just east of Holly Springs.  Once you read the history of the town, the name makes sense. The hyphenated name, Fuquay-Varina, reflects the dual heritage of two communities and the story of a couple's romance that led to their marriage and the communities coming together.Fuquay SpringsHistorians explain it all began back in 1663 during the reign of King Charles II of England when a charter was granted to the territory now known as the Carolinas to eight Lord's Proprietors. This vicinity of North Carolina was first known as "Piney Woods" and its first inhabitants were said to be Sippihaw Native-Americans.It is believed the first European to settle ...

I am in the process of working with a couple on the purchase of a home in Crooked Creek in Fuquay Varina.  My clients wrote an initial offer on a home in September but lost the house because they had to sell their home in Phoenix.  My clients closed on their home November 17th so they are now ready to move to North Carolina.    When I showed my clients homes back in September we went into a house that seemed incredibly spooky.  We walked through the house and there were holes in the walls, stains on the carpet (blood perhaps?), and video cameras up in the bonus room.  This is where my story begins. A murder perhaps? An argument gone wrong?  A child molester upstairs with hidden cameras?  As you are aware, we as Real Estate agents do not have to disclose information about people dying i...

Ok, so it wasn't actually a MURDER House.  We thought it was, but after doing a substantial amount of homework I realized that it was just a great investment opportunity.  Please see my previous post on "The Murder House" in November for more details on what the home previously looked like at the end of December. In 45 days my clients completely rennovated the entire home.  The facelift the home received was substantial: New carpet throughout Revamping of the water heater Fixtures stained to eliminate the brass look Partially finished    basement Electrical and heating reworked in the basement Repainting throughout the home Exterior power wash of entire home Restaining of all decks Sheetrock work done to damaged areas of the home Interior lighting to brighten kitchen  Per the Wake Count...
