Mitch Edmondson and Scott Glasscox are used to building residential and commercial structures. Now, they are creating warm, homemade donuts covered in sugary glazes and sweet toppings. At their business, Family Dough Donuts, customers can create their own unique donut, from a standard honey glaze to blueberry glaze with cinnamon sugar and chocolate chips. One customer comes in the Denver store monthly and purchases donuts for her brother stationed in Iraq. Customers, especially children, enjoy watching the donuts being fried in vegetable oil and come off a conveyor belt, even if it may take a few minutes. Heavy equipment is used to dig holes for dynamite to blast through rock at the construction site of the Killian Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility south of Denver. Construction is scheduled to be complete at the end of next summer.   Sally's Y Ride & Run ~ Denver, NC (LKN) UPDATE! Back in March I blogged about the 2nd Annual Ride for Sally's Y. The event was held this weekend and I am happy to report it was a HUGE success!! There were over 220 participants and 30+ volunteers at the event. The weather was perfect for such an event and the riders/walkers had a wonderful time, and I guess you're wondering how I know this....well I have the surveys in hand!Early on it was decided that the primary purpose for the event was to raise community awareness over monetary reasons.I am pleased to report it did both! Participants more than doubled from last years and the projected net is $7,000.
