The Village will be the largest mixed-use project that Cornelius has ever seen with a whole lot to offer the Lake Norman area.   Even though it is not scheduled to break ground until 2010, with a completion date in 2011, it has already received a lot of attention.  Some nearby residents are concerned about the traffic for the area.  Others see it as a great asset, offering many jobs to people who can't afford to drive into Charlotte and by creating more than $370 million in a positive economic impact.    The Village will cover a 104-acre strip South of Westmoreland in Cornelius and I-77.  It will have 655,000 square feet of up-scale retail stores and restaurants with 3 major department stores.  It will also have 810,000 square feet of Class A office space.  Adding to this mix will be 2...

Life would not seem complete without great Italian markets and bakeries so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Ferrucci's Old Tyme Italian Market right here in Lake Norman!  (Yes, I know this isnt about real estate but once in a while I need to have some fun! Besides, I want to reassure anyone considering relocating here, especially from New York, that you will be able to get all of your favorite foods right here in Lake Norman). A true test of whether an Italian market is good is how long you have to wait.  As you can see, Ferruccis passed this test with flying colors.  However, the service is great so truly the wait is well worth it. It is amazing how much is packed into this relatively tiny store.  They have a complete deli with wonderful ‘Italian inspired sandwich creat...
