We all know that the luxury home market took a financial hit along with the rest of the housing market.  One its subsidiaries that owns it’s golf courses and club houses is now filing for chapter 11.  The Carlile Group will supply The Cliffs a bridge loan until it gets through bankruptcy proceedings and tplans to invest a significant amount of capital as it takes over. The Cliffs have two golf course communites in Asheville. The fabulous Jack Nicklaus course at the Walnut Cove community and the Tiger Woods course at High Carolina. Although the Wood's course has not been finished and the Carlile Group is not sure what it's plans are, they do hope to finish the course. This is all wonderful news for one of Ashville’e most prestigious luxury home communities. 02/11/2012

WALNUT COVE or Pebble Beach Golf. Oh BOY! It's Pro-Am tee time at Pebble Beach and this avid chipper has been enjoying the show. ( The links were designed by the way by two "amateur"  golf course design architects, unlike Asheville's Walnut Cove Jack Nicklaus Signature Course which opened in April 2005. )    It is the first time in 10 years that we have seen Tiger play Pebble Beach in the National Pro-Am Tour. Today he  birdied the 391-yard par-four first hole, but his play seems a little sporadic, so we will have to see how it all works out.
