It's been a busy month here in the Cary Apex Raleigh area of North Carolina. I've been showing buyers quite a few houses lately. Even though we live in the South, January can still be a gloomy time of the year. And when it's raining out houses can look dark and uninviting inside.  Don't make buyers feel like they're entering a cave! If you're selling your home it's always a good idea to OPEN the blinds and curtains, and turn on the lights. The buyers do not want to feel like they're entering a cave! The extra few cents that it will cost you to leave the lights on when you have a showing will be more than made up for in the sale price of the home and the shorter time on market. I showed 18 homes to a lovely couple this past week and the 4 homes that made the top of the list were all brig...

Apex, NC Housing Market Report May 2012 Housing in Apex, NC is Looking Great! The median sales price increased from $267k in May 2011 to $277,500 in May 2012. Inventory is down and DOM - days on the market have decreased. We're seeing multiple offers on homes. It will be interesting to see what June holds as we're currently seeing a steady stream of inquiries. Our market is directly affected by sales in other states. Reports are that homes sales are rising in many states. What does this mean to buyers?: The good news is you're buying in an area that is increasingly stable. While prices have increased, the Apex market is still experiencing low housing pricing making it a great time to buy in Apex, NC. Interest rates are historically low, home prices are low, and demand for investment pro...

Don't forget folks...On Saturday, May 5th, 2012, our little town of Apex, North Carolina will hold it's annual "Peak of Good Living" celebration, the Apex Peak Fest!   Peak Fest originally started out in a school parking lot and has grown to be such a grand event that hundreds of vendors and over 25,000 people attend every year. Salem Street, our version of Main Street, USA, is closed to traffic as clowns and magicians entertain the little ones, food and crafts vendors line the streets, and bands play throughout the day. All your typical festival food is readily available and children can enjoy the KidZone area that's filled with rides and games. It's truly one of the many family friendly events sponsored by the Town of Apex and every year it just seems to get better and better.     Dir...

Apex, NC Real Estate - March 2012 Market Recap and Apex Shred Day   Residents of Apex, NC pull out those old file boxes for the Apex Shred Day on April 21st (the day before Earth Day!).  From 9 am - noon you can drop off all those unwanted confidential papers completely free of charge.  Enjoy the peice of mind that comes with knowing your sensitive documents will be shredded and your confidential papers destroyed.  A couple of rules to note... remove paper clicks, staples, and any metal from hanging file folders and spiral bound notebooks before bringing (they will damage the shredding truck and can not be accepted) and the contents must be limited to 2 file boxes of documents with personal data (no books, magaines, newspapers or other papers that can be simply recycled).  Where is thi...
