Gringo, a new taqueria in the St. Louis Central West End neighborhood, was the setting for a nice family dinner on a recent evening.  Gringo St. Louis is in a bright, light-filled space formerly inhabited by Rothschild Antiques at the corner of Euclid and McPherson.  Address is 398 N. Euclid Ave, 314.449.1212.  The large patio was hopping as we are enjoying an unusually mild July for St. Louis.  And Gringo has made patio accomodations for both couples and larger groups.   Inside, the restaurant has a friendly vibe -- lots of couples, a good bar scene, and plenty of families.  We sat at a large round table that perfectly accomodated our group of 8 and enjoyed a veiw of the street scene -- good people watching! Wow!  It's been a productive couple of weeks.  On March 18, got my two-family listing on Tholozan under contract.  We are almost through the building inspection resolution on that one.  On March 26, I got a buyer contract accepted on a home in South City; we are finished with inspections on that one.  On March 27, my listing in House Springs went under contract.  Inspection is scheduled for that one tomorrow.  On March 30 I got another buyer contract accepted on a home in Southampton Neighborhood.  We'll do inspections on that one later this week.  Then today,I got another buyer deal accepted in South County.  The worst part of it all is getting all the paperwork together.  That was my project for tonight.  Thank goodness for electronic signatures! **All personal pictures and images/log...

We braved the slippery streets to see "The Book of Mormon" at the Fabulous Fox Theater last night.  The tickets were a Valentines Day Gift - what a wonderful gift that was!  With the snow and sleet all afternoon, I was worried the roads would be too treacherous, but with the 4-wheel drive, they weren't too bad.  We were told they have never cancelled a show due to weather, so we were going one way or the other, even if we had to walk there... One of my associates alerted me to a scam their alderman in St. Louis had told them is being perpetrated primarily on the elderly residents in some St. Louis neighborhoods.   This group has one member knock on the front door, presents themselves as a utility or construction worker, or real estate agent and asks the victim to come outside to look at the potential problem, ie electrical work, cable wires, faulty gas pipe or inquire about a property.  While the victim is outside a second member of the group enters the residence and grabs items such as currency or jewelry or any other items they can easily grab.   The advice is to NOT accompany the individuals outside!  Residents are reminded that if any type of work is to be done, the company will usually cese indiviall ahead.  If their i...

Just received word from a colleague who has been working on a short sale for me that the lein-holder foreclosed on the home while they were working the short sale. (My colleague only works short sales, and knows what she is doing).  The lein-holder has been dragging this out for months, and every time they wanted something, the homeowner and my colleague got it to them immediately. My colleague diligently stayed on top of the deal, calling the Short Sale Department almost daily. The buyer has been waiting to close for months on this property. The Short Sale Department and the Foreclosure Department of this bank did not communicate with each other, and it's the homeowner who suffers again.
