WE went to the county Fair in Pine City, Mn. this evening. Took the 5 year old Grand Daughter. We had a great time. Made one mistake...NO CAMERA. WE hhit all the kiddie rides and there were smiles on most all the kids. WE played a few of the rigged games and came away with a couple of stuff toys. All in all, I think I may have had more fun the the kids.     The fair goes on until Sunday.

Yes, there is a lot of snow out there. But, no leaves. For hunters, now is a great time to see the Deer activity and other wildlife by the trails. No leaves let's you see the terrain and the high and low areas. Call for permission to walk the land.  Strap on the snow shoes and explore.  Some sellers will allow you to use your snowmobile or ATV's, but ask permission first. It is never to early to start planning your purchase.

There are many aspects of recreational land.  1. There is your desired use. 2. There is the realistic use 3. There is Government regulated use.     1. You need to think about where you want to buy this land. 2. You need to know what each parcel has to offer. 3. You need to have it fit your budget.   Recreational properties can require a larger down payment by banks than a primary home loan.   Even contract for deeds many times want more down than a bank and a higher interest rate.   All of this takes time...a lot of time.   Not all answers you want can or will be answered right when you ask them.  Working with an agent that has intimate knowledge of the area you are interested in will save a lot of time. It is the Middle of March...Realistically it could take until the 1st of May to clo...

The warming of the earth is something that has happened over the eons.  We are possibly in one of those Eon times again. Last year...It was cold and a lot of snow.  This year it has been warm with very very little of the white stuff. Last year...this cartoon was right on the money... This year...we would have to say Mr. Gore's idea's would be right on. Which ever way you want to look at it...This year is a bit unusual for Minnesota!

I am not a smart person when it comes to the computer.  But, the neighbor kid showed me how Twins are made.    Now if it were really all that easy.  I would become a computer wizard also! I am also glad that this isn't the way it is done.  The old fashion way was a lot more fun.

I was approached by a friend for help and advice.  It seams that someone he knew had an accident was was off work.  Money was very tight as he had no disability insurance.  I also seams that a circle of friends that wanted to help didn't have any extra cash either. After a brief brain storming session I came up with a great idea. Recycling. This is a rural community and everyone seams to have a pile of old scrap metal.   With the price around $180 a ton, it sounded like a great idea.  The word was put out and over the next few days the metal flowed in. I volunteered to haul a load to the scrap yard.  My little trailer hauled just over 2 ton of metal.  We also collected copper and some aluminum. The goal was to make the $900 house payment.  We did that and had enough for a couple of tank...

I think of all the pills we take and some times it seams that we are given the some stuff for all of our ails... An 80 year old lady goes into the Dr.s office..."I wold like some Birth Control pills" she said. Taken aback, the Dr. asked, "Why." "Because they help me sleep" she said. Thinking a bit more the Dr. said..."How do they help you sleep better?" "Because, I put them in my Grand Daughter's orange juice and I sleep better."

A simple question can many times be taken in a very wrong way....EXAMPLE A couple from out west were driving through Wisconsin and came to the town of, Oconomowoc. They were discussing how to pronounce it when they stop at a fast food place.  The blonde behind the counter asked for their order... "The husband says..."Before we order...where are we and would you pronounce it slowly." "Sure thing", she responded..."You are at Brrrr Grrrr King!"

October is one of the worst months of the year in Minnesota for Deer and Cars to meet on the road.  There are several reasons for this... Hunter in the woods.  There are all kinds of hunter in the woods at this time.  unsuspecting Deer run for safety and many times cross busy roads. Food sources.  Especially in farm country, as the crops are taken from the fields Deer that were using them and the wooded acreage near them will travel more at low light and dark.  Those travels will place them in harms way. Mating season.  Yup, this is the time for the boys to be sowing their seeds and they have a very short time in which to do it.  So as the Does come into season also, they will chase away the fawns and leave them for a few days.  The now free fawns run wild at times not really mature eno...

Well, I finally got underway for the weekend.   It 's a nice drive and so while I am driving, I thought I would write this blog.  OH...Don't worry, I put the car in cruise control!  OK OK...I just stopped for coffee and I am waiting for a client. As I have been driving and seeing all the traffic of people starting the weekend early, a thought came to mind.  Just where is everyone going.  I try to imagine all the places that they could go and the list is endless.   A statement that my dad made many years ago.   We were in a hurry and traffic was heavy and slow.  Dad, visibly frustrated said..."Look at all the traffic, they can't all have somewhere to go!" That quip has stayed with me for many years and I use it every now and again. But for today, I just hope that everyone arrives safely....

Yes it is a celebration for Dad today.  And it was a good day at that.  But there is still one person that seams to be pushed by the way side. MOM !! It doesn't matter what holiday is up, MOM is the one up on her feet.  Most Dad's are sitting back and tending to the visitors, laughing playing games. I know that my Mom is at my Dad's beck and call all the time.  Dad is confined to a wheel chair and only has the use of one hand.  Mom is always at his side for anything he wants no matter how insignificant it is.  She always has time for him.  Mom has put herself last nowdays.  But that isn't anything new.  She has done that all her life.  So today I am saying..Happy Father's Day MOM. I Love You!  My favorite Piture of them on their 40th wedding anniversary.  That was 15 years ago!

This fits into my way of thinking.  I now know why I am so healthy! A fifth grade teacher wanted to teach his class about the evils of drinking. The teacher took a glass of water and a glass of alcohol.  He then took a worm and put it into the glass of water.  "See class how the worm moves around in the water unhurt."  He then put a worm into the glass of whiskey and the worm wiggled and squirmed and then died on at the bottom of the glass. "Class, what have we learned about this experiment?" Little Johnny raised his hand from the back of the room..."This teaches us that if we drink whhiskey, we won't get worms!"

This was sent to me by a good friend.   Said I need to keep this in mind when helping clients. While showing off his new Condo to his Business friends, one of them asked... "What is this big brass gong and hammer for?" "That's a talking clock" the new owner replied. "How does it work?" The young man replies..."Watch this...." he hits the gong and and ear shattering echo erupts for it.   Suddenly, form the other side of the wall someone yells..."Knock it off you Idiot...it's 2 o'clock in the morning!" I am not sure this would be the best gift to give!
