Fishing is not always about the fish. Last weekend while on the water I hit a backwater area.These can be very productive at times.I was casting a few times when I heard some noise behind me.I looked and here watching me very closely was a family of otters.I had fished this spot dozens of times and this is the first encounter with this family. I then just slowly moved out of the area.  I didn't want to rile them as they have been know to join you in the boat!   06/02/2018

Today is the 3 rd day in a  row that we ave received a good amount of rain.The rain has fallen in intervals that allowed it to soak into the ground and not run off.This is the best type of rain.  A soaking rain. Now after the next few days of cooler temps, the plants will be ok when it turns hot again.   Time now to dry off. THUNDER!!!What a beautiful sound.We are getting some rain.Not a lot is expected, but even a 1/2 would be perfect.We do not need a downpour as the young garden plants would not survive.But for right now the light rain will be just what the doctor ordered!But, it will be right back to dry and 90's tomorrow!  My flowers will love it! 05/25/2018

I am a very trusting guy.When I meet people fo the first time I ask about pre-qual's.This time early in the week, I  did not.Results...Buyers fell in love with the home.I have asked about being pre-qualified and was assured they had been before I made the a appointment. Well, the lady is in tears as they had not been to the bank and the home they wanted is $40,000 over what the bank says they can have and they have very little money down  THIS IS WHY BUYERS NEED TO BE AT LEAST PRE-QULIFIED!!!!! 05/24/2018

It is going to get hot here in Minnesota this weekend.So it is time to worry about the pets.Let's look at taking them with us.I see may a dog in a car all by itself...usually barking their heads off.90 degree day will make a car over 120 in a few minutes.Leaving the window down a couple of inches does very little.Bringing them inside the store is  not an option for many businesses.Do your pet a favor and leave them home where it is cool ad safe.It really is the way to go!  05/24/2018

Yes the holiday weekend is closing fast.It is a big travel weekend.But, if you are going to buy a home, you  should be looking at homes and not out partying.WHY?  You ask.Many reasons, but a couple to think about. 1.  There are not many houses for sale in some areas and you need to be the first ones in if possible.2.  Because, many people are not thinking right and will be out playing.  That will mean less competition for the home you may find. It is up to you, but what is really more important?  05/19/2018

Spring is measured by many as how long the new flowers bloom.Many times most are done in 2 weeks.Then many summer flowers do not show up until late summer.To get away from the summer blues, plant more of a variety keeping in mind thetime frame that most will bloom.Better yet plant those that bloom from spring until the frost comes.The looks and aroma of flowers brightens even a dull day|!   05/19/2018

My wife and I was working on some of the bushes in our yard when we spotted this nest.I was up on the ladder and was able to look in.3 fuzzy little chicks.We had heard some birds making  a rukus but did not think twice. I snapped   a quick photo and let mom and dad back to the nest.  05/18/2018

Yes, we are knocking on the door of the weekend.Many of us will be traveling for some reason.We will make stops for restrooms, especially at our age.But, it can be hard finding ones that are clean.We keep a travel log of where we have gotten gas, lunch, and stopped for a restroom.We make sure we know the clean ones and ones to avoid.This was a cute sign we saw in one...  05/18/2018

De-clutter we tell our clients.have a sale and get rid of stuff you don't want and or need. But do we talk a bit about safety?This just happened over the weekend.A couple having a sale were in the detached garage. Several people in one car stopped.Couple of them kept the husband and wife busy and one stepped aside and went into the UNLOCKED home.Medication, money and jewelry were missing. Having more than one person is smart, but you really need to lock the house doors.Secures all of your possessions and stops anyone casing the inside or worse! 05/17/2018

My part of Minnesota can get a frost all the way to Memorial weekend.So why did I plant today.Because, I planted all seeds. Germination is 7-10 days on average.  The closerto the holiday the less likely a frost will occur. Next weekend, I will plant the tomato's. The forecasts for the year is to be HOT and dry.  There will be a lot of watering going on.I am lucky, I have my own well so it only takes a few pennies to run the pump. The deer have not eaten my wife's flowers so they are looking very nice this spring...so far!!! 05/14/2018
