Across the street from this train track there is a lot for sale that gives a marvelous view of the river and downtown Elk River. Is the noise of the train worth the view? I suppose that is something each individual has to determine for ones self... I wouldn't mind the view, or the closeness of the downtown area but find the train to be quite a challenge to overcome! Where in Elk River can you find such a peaceful place for a picnic?Well, maybe a picnic would be a little on the chilly side this time of year, but there is a beautiful view overlooking the Mississippi River in downtown Elk River.This new addition to the downtown area is a place of peace and beauty. Last week they held the holiday even in this area and during the summer they hold weekly concerts in this beautiful place. Hope that you are able to visit yourself one day. 12/19/2007

 The Sunshine Depot has been a long fixture in Elk River... ever since I can remember anyways! The offer a variety of foods, but the atmosphere is half the fun. I must admit it's been awhile since I've been there, but I have great memories from the local restauraunt. As a little child we had many birthday parties in there "party" room! Pizza and friends are always a great combination!If ever you are in Elk River I highly recommend checking out the downtown with it's rich heritage. 12/19/2007

Wow! Time is coming close to Christmas so quick and it's amazing! There are always lots of opportunities this time of year to share and to bless others. One of my favorites is the giving tree. At our Coldwell Banker Vision office they always set up the Christmas tree and for the second year in a row they are collecting mittens and hats on the tree for Caer! I am excited to head in today and to place my first hat this year on the tree. I'm hoping to add a few more before the holidays are done, but it feels great to give! I'll update with a new photo as the tree fills with mittens and hats! 12/10/2007

Where in Elk River?... Do you find a quiet serene park?... A place to kick up your feet and enjoy the view?  At Orono Park you can throw your boat in the lake and take a spin, or swim in the summer and fish anytime! Over the fourth of July you will find a great display of fireworks and all through the summer you can attend the local farmer's market. There are playgrounds for the kiddies and walking paths for all. What a view.... What a view.... 12/07/2007

From October 2006 to October 2007 the housing market in Elk River has changed drastically, just like the surrounding areas. It may look "doomy" for sellers, but I think that in the long run things will be looking up for everyone! For sellers they are able to sell AND take advantage of the lower prices going into their next home. For buyers, there are lots of options out there. We are in a great time to buy and sell real estate!!!!In the past year Elk River has seen a 14% decline in new listings on the market which will help sellers simply due to the laws of supply and demand. There was a 24% decline in closed units, but not to despair! The average sale price has nearly 7% going from $234K to $218k.   I took the plunge today and went and chopped off my hair! At the Elk River Simonson's Salon they offer FREE haircuts in exchange for your hair to be donated to Locks of Love - a program that creates wigs for cancer patients. It feels great knowing that a haircut can bless someone who is suffering! What a way to start the holiday season. 11/29/2007
