I assist taxpayers in the Greater Lansing area and the rest of Michigan who have tax issues, and I have recently seen an increase in the number of people who have multiple years of back tax returns that were never filed. The numbers are boucning around but they are usually pointing north of 50%. Most web searches are web video based.  And why do you ask?Its convenient. Less reading. Web video, when done correctly, can rank quick and get the message across. Plus you can target it to pop up in any city, or market you desire. That is good news for many of you. The flip side of this is of course Google, who can be very fickle, they will only allow so many websites from your real estate office. This is due to many of the agents being placed under one umbrella site with one URL. Google will only allow a few agents in the rankings no matter what  you do. There may not be much snow on the ground, but this weekend, there was plenty of snow to enjoy at the new Hawk Island Park Tubing and Snowboarding Hill. I have been following the progress of the new hill on Facebook and after much anticipation, the hill finally opened President’s Weekend. I took my sometimes hard to please teenage daughter and her friend.  The hill was larger than we expected and despite the greenish, brown grass that surrounded the area, there was plenty of snow on the hill.  The park provides the tubes and there is a tow rope to take you up to the top.  I had not planned to tube, but it looked like so much fun, I gave it a try too.  I was glad it did!  There is also a space on the hill for snowboarders along with a couple of jumps and rails. I confess, I’m a summer girl.  Nothing makes me happier than a good book, a beach and a comfortable chair.  However, in Mid-Michigan, winter is a fact of life.  You can huddle-up inside and wish it away OR you can embrace it! One winter activity available in Meridian Township is cross country skiing.  It’s fun and great exercise too!   The Harris Nature Center on Van Atta Road in Okemos and the Lake Lansing North Park in Haslett are both great places to give cross country skiing a try.  Lake Lansing North Park is run by the Ingham County Parks System.  There are several miles of groomed trails available as well as rental equipment, but hours vary each week.  You can call the Ingham County Parks at 517/676-2233 to inquire.  The Harris Nature Center is operated by Meridian Township.  They... 01/23/2012
