Love feels no burden, thinks nothing of trouble, attempts what is above its strength, pleads no excuse of impossibility.  It is therefore able to undertake all things, and it completes many things, and warrants them to take effect, where he does not love would faint and lie down. Love is watchful and sleeping, slumbered not.  Though weary, it is not tired; though pressed, it is not straitened; though alarmed, it is not confounded. ~ Thomas A Kempis   Carve you name on hearts and not on marble. ~ Charles H. Spurgeon   Spread love everywhere you go; first of all in your own house.  Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.  Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face...

The temperature here in Michigan today is FREEZING! There's no other nicer way to say it, but call it like it is.  So I ended my day today about 3:30 PM and I'm just pulling out of bank after making an ATM deposit and I look up and I see this young lady and a small child.  The little boy looks like he's about 6 or 7 and he doesn't have on a big winter coat, but he does have a scarf and hat on and you can tell they were both cold.  Mind you, the wind is blowing and it feels like someone slapping you with a sheet of ice.  So, I'm pulling out slowly and roll down my window and ask, "Can I offer you a lift home, it's really cold out here?" - Well, she didn't say anything, so I figured she must have not heard me, so I'm now driving slowly and pull up next to them on the curb and ask the ques...

I saw this quote written by Seth & Pat Matson, "YOU can't change YOUR past thoughts, but YOU can change the way YOU think about them!  It all starts and ends with YOU." We all heard the phrase, "stinking thinking"  What are your thinking? These thoughts can trigger negative or positive emotions.  You must first identify the problem thinking and what is right thinking.     You can develop a plan for Right Thinking. Have a written definition of your desired right thinking. What are your ways to measure progress? Keep a daily record of your progress. Have an accountable person in your life. What are you reading - keep a log - make sure they're self-help or motivational materials. Associate with Right Thinking people.   They way you think about yourself, will determine how you react and int...

Your attitude will determine your aptitude!  How did your day end?  Was it a good day or a bad day?  Well, I'm sure you attitude had a lot to do with it. Did you get up feeling rushed, hurried, and everything not going the way you planned.  Stop and think about how you felt when you got up this morning, were you happy, mad, or glad?   Did something or someone make you feel that way?  Most of the time, we are having wars in our mind.  The mind is a very powerful thing, did you have a good dream or a bad dream?  Sometimes those early morning dreams can have a lot to do with how you're feeling when you wake up and those feelings will carry out through out the day.  So be very mindful that once you wake up, take the time to notice how are you feeling?  Do you remember if you were dreamin...

Do you consider yourself a good neighbor or do you have good neighbors around you?  In an age where technology rules and connectivity happens more in cyberspace than in the cul-de-sac, let's not lose sight of the tremendous benefits to stepping out of the front door and getting to know your neighbors and letting them get to know you. It's a basic fact that's just as important today as it's ever been. From just a little hello and a small wave from across the yard, to pitching in to help each other after a storm, to block parties and a very warm welcome to the new neighbors in the neighborhood, it's all about connecting.  Connecting is the key to a safer neighborhood, friendly neighbors, and getting others involved. You have the ability to start a trend and truly raise the value of the wh...

This is the time of year when we can start looking back and reflecting how our year has been and what we can do for the New Year! It's always a great time to give thanks for all the wonderful things that have happened to us and to our families and friends over the past year.  Thank you family members and your friends for their support in your business and thank those for all the referrals and repeat business you've received. This is also the time of year where we will be in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we sometimes don't seem to find the time to call on our friends or clients as often as we would like to.  Well, just take a few minutes to go through your data base or your address book and call someone, go ahead and make their day, send someone a card just because you wer...

We love to hear these words, "We have a clear to close" and now the close date has been set and it's the day or two before closing. Please don't forget to have your final walk through before the home is actually yours. Here's a few things you may need to remember: 1) Make sure the repairs you requested have been made. Obtain copies of any paid bills and any related warranties. 2) Screen and storm windows are in place or stored. 3) Verify all items that were included in the sales contract - draperies, lighting fixtures, appliances are all still there. 4) Make sure that all the appliances are operating, run the dishwasher, turn on the stove and oven, test the ice and water maker in the refrigerator. 5) Test the Intercoms, doorbells, and alarms. 6) Make sure the Hot water heater and HVAC i...

This is the time of year that we can take a day or even a couple of hours and go through some of our old things, whether it's clothes, paperwork or just stuff that you haven't used for years.  My thing is if it's still sitting in that same place in the corner basement and you haven't touched it in a year.  That's considered old and you may want to clear up some space by getting rid of the old. Go through your closets and get out that coat you haven't worn in a couple of years, if it's still looks good, then think about giving it to a charity or a shelter in your neighborhood.  I'm sure there's someone you can find that is in need of a few winter coats. This time of year, I start going through my old files and start preparing for the New Year.  Making room for next year's files.  I found...

What are your plans in setting your dining table for the upcoming holidays? Whether you plan to set a traditional table or a ready to mix it up a bit, add your own personality and spice to your holiday dinner meal time with just some simple and decorative touches. You can use mini pumpkins or gourds as place holders and write each guest's name with a nice gold or silver sharpie.  Fill a deep glass bowl with pomegranate's, clove studded oranges and lemons for a beautiful, fragrant centerpiece. Great way to get the kids involved is have them find all the different color leaves that are nice and full size along with pine cones.  Have them spray paint the pine cones with gold or silver glitter and add them to a nice glass dish or bowl for a center piece or decorations. If you like candles -...

I'm sure most of us have a To Do List of some kind or a list to help us along the way so we will not forget certain things. This is a great time to make a list of all the things you will need for your Thanksgiving dinner along with your Christmas dinner.  It's also a great time to make home made invitations, especially for the kids, they would love to receive their own personal invitation to come to granny's house.  I'm working on mine now for my grand sugars! I also plan on having a First arrival guest gift and a few little something specials as a Thank You for coming to dinner!  It's a great way to make a lasting impression on someone.   It's also a great time to give the gift of giving to those in need.  Get with your local church and find someone or a family who may be in need.  Our...

We are entering into the holiday season and we sometimes can get so caught up on work and running errands, that we will forget to take time for ourselves. So before you get too busy with work and running those errands, make sure you block some free time, alone time or peace time for yourself. You can run your body down and this will cause you to have all kinds of stress and less sleep, which will then turn into all types of sickness and disease. I'm sure some things can wait until tomorrow, the best way in keeping track of what you're doing or things that need to be completed is to keep a list. Don't be so hard on yourself if something on the list doesn't get completed, remember there's tomorrow and just add that to the new list. Here are just a few tips in relaxing: 1) Make sure you ge...

I'm sure we've all heard this phrase - What inspires you and or What motivates you?  There are certain things or people that motivate us to do what we do. I'm sure now that we're in November, we're all thinking about Thanksgiving dinner or even looking at your Christmas list and checking it twice.  Why? Because someone you may know, whether it's your family or friends, you're about to get motivated to do something for the holidays.   Think about that feeling or desire you have to want to make sure your dinner plans go well, the gifts are all bought and wrapped that were on your list.   Because that's the thing that motivates us to do what we do or drive us to make sure something gets done. Now do you have that same motivation or drive when it comes to your clients?  This is the time of ...

We all love treats and the trick to safe treating is preparation, communication and a watchful eye!  Make sure for the children's sake the you take more precautions for halloween night: Here's a list of a few safety precautions to keep in mind for Halloween Night. 1) Make sure your children are lit.  Carry a flashlight or glow stick, also consider reflective tape for black costumes.2) No running, darkness and costumes are an awkward mix, walk from house to house.3) Make sure you stick to the rules!  While motorists should be more mindful on this night, it's better to be safe.  Stay on sidewalks when possible, and watch for traffic signals.4) Only approach houses with lights on.  Dark houses may mean no one is home or they just don't want to be disturbed.5) Steer clear of unfamiliar pets...
