Downtown Plymouth has a centralized city center with a well groomed park called Kellogg Park.  The park has a fountain, side walks, and plenty of trees.  Right next to the park is the gathering place where the Farmers market is held on Sundays.  The downtown area hosts 3 or 4 big festivals a year.  The three main Plymouth festivals are the: I...

If your moving to Plymouth Michigan what a great place to live.  There is so much to do in Plymouth from young to old.  Where do I begin.  For one thing it's historical, the homes are victorian style, the city itself is fun, exciting so many events & festivals year round.  Downtown Plymouth you have all sorts of restaurants where you can sit outside to eat.  You have the farmers market that begins spring time last until fall.  There are fruits to vegetables to pies and cakes, flowers etc. You have weddings in the park that are always beautiful.  The park is called Kellogg Park which is very nice that has a water fountain, green grass to lie on, with beautiful flowers all throughout the park, and benches.  In Plymouth there are always people either sitting near the fountain or taking a b...

Here is a quick neighborhood update of all the sold homes in Huntington Park Subdivision in Plymouth MI in the last 365 days as of 9/13/2012.  Even though the days on the market show 18 and 9 these homes must have been relisted several times as new listings when they lowered the price.  The actual days on the market was 200 days. Just a guess I would say these homes either were near the large cell tower or near the expressway.  It is fine to buy a house near an expressway or cell tower if you do not mind it and you get a great price on it.  Remember when you sell the home that it will take longer and again it will sell for less than other comparable homes in the area because of the cell tower or expressway.   ADDRESS LIST PRICE SALE PRICE DOM SP PER SQFT SQ FT    YEAR BUILT SHORT SALE 1...

Yes the Plymouth real estate market is still going strong.  Plymouth Michigan home prices are slowly creeping up due to a lack of inventory.  No we haven't lost any homes in Plymouth due to fire, or damage.  The reason there is a lack of homes for sale because so many people are upside down.  They cannot afford to sell.  Then I also believe there has been a slowing of home buyers upgrading.  Buyers are not buying bigger and better homes.  I think many Plymouth home owners are content in their homes. Another reason I believe there is a lack of inventory is that baby boomers are staying put.  They are hoping to sell their Plymouth home when the market climbs back.  I think many of them are in the wait and see mode.  They can afford to hang in there and see if their home appreciates in the...

I have a client that has to sell their Plymouth home before they can buy.  They have an offer accepted but they are afraid of putting in an offer until it is sold.  But then they have nowhere to go.  So the answer is to put in an offer on another Plymouth home with the contingency that the offer is contingent on your sale is going thru. What that means to my client is that they can feel comfortable in knowing that if there sale on their current home falls apart that they can back out of the new sale.  Some home sellers do not like that contingency.  In fact right now I have one deal where we lost out on a Plymouth home because the sellers chose another buyer over us. They did not want to wait and see if the deal would go thru.  It makes some Plymouth home sellers nervous because now the...

Moving to Plymouth - Where to Start Buying a home in Plymouth Michigan, or any city Metro Detroit , can seem daunting and overwhelming.   It is a new city to you.  Well, take a deep breath and let's start from the beginning. Establish priorities. Think about the lifestyle you're looking for, the amount of space you need, the style of home that interests you, how far you want to drive to work, or to family, and anything else that may be important to you.   Write them down and then prioritize them. Of course, it is easy for me to say, but it is not always that simple.   You may have the dream of buying a large Victorian home – Northville or Farmington Hills may have the one you like.  You may want more space or acreage -  Salem Township may be the community you want to look at.   Chances ...
