Last week I found out there are 4 pieces of code that need to be placed in your website pages when you want to connect to Google+. Course it is not necessary if you do this but it is advised if you do. Google has been very sketchy on all of this since the recent FTC investigation last winter and the Penguin updates.... its a mystery really. But Facebook started doing this too with the Open Graph search updates. They are running a similar deal.
