I thought it would be fun to take pictures of the creepiest Halloween decorations going up in our local towns. This home is on east 9 Mile in the city of Eastpointe - directly across from the fire department and a block away from the police department.   (Quite a busy street).  I wonder how much gawker traffic it receives?       Did you notice the table saw on the right hand side of the porch?  I bet it was used for the guy dressed in black below: I have a feeling there won't be many small children approaching this home to trick or treat!   Mike Mitchell, have you driven past this home?

Homeowners are discovering the convenience of dumpster rentals for large clean-up projects.  Dumpsters are not just for commercial or industrial sites.   A common residential place to see dumpsters is in front of a house that is being renovated.  These are for disposing of rubbish; that is, garbage that is not food waste.  Rubbish is placed in a different section of the landfill because landfills are organized by types of trash and its rate of decomposition.   If you're working on a large project or clean up and need to have a lot of rubbish carried away, the simplest solution is to rent a dumpster.  The dumpster rental company will deliver the dumpster to your home and place it by the curb or in your driveway.  Once you have finished filling it, call the dumpster rental service and hav...

To make a tasty pot of soup you need good ingredientsand time to let the flavors meld together.  In manyregards this is how a city & community is formed.                                    Eastpointe MI is located at the southeastern endof Macomb County and borders Warren, St. Clair Shores, and neighboring Wayne County. As the cooler fall weather hits me in the mornings I wasonce again craving a nice pot of soup with fresh breadfor dinner.  One of my husband and my favorites is myown interpretation of minestrone.  Yesterday I shopped in Eastpointe for the ingredients formy soup and marveled once again how strong of a cityEastpointe is in Macomb County MI and how this community melds together in both strong and bumpyeconomic times. My first stop was Marcos Meat and Deli located at17850 E...

Eastpointe MI is your typical suburban community that is undergoing market changes and plunges with the rising foreclosure rates.   This mornings earlier post about the market activity and "sold" homes in Macomb county made me stop and think about two particular homes in Eastpointe that I recently had personal experience with.First is this beauty:  It is an above average 3 bedroom brick bungalow.  It is larger than most in the city by approximately 200 square feet and also was updated beautifully with exceptional detail.   However, at one point during the listing period there were 90 other brick bungalows on the market in Eastpointe.  I knew though that if it was priced well that the buyers would view it and when those buyers came through they would be as impressed as I was with the int...

HISTORYThe community was founded by European immigrants who came to establish homes in the New World. From 1837 to the present time, this community has operated under three forms of local government, i.e. Township, Village and City. The name first given to the area in 1837 was Orange Township. In 1843 the area was renamed Erin Township; both names indicating that the earliest settlers were Irish. The Irish were followed by pioneers from Bavaria, Macklenburg, Saxony and other provinces of Germany. The German migration began in the early 1830's and soon became the majority of the settlement. The Township form of government lasted until December 8, 1924, when the Village of Halfway was incorporated. The name Halfway was first officially recorded in 1897, with the opening of the Halfway Post...
