Concerned citizens of Brighton Township and the Woodland Lake area are gravely concerned about developer Dan Boss' petition before the Brighton Township Planning Commission to dramatically increase the residential building density of his newly acquired 42 acres that abuts Woodland Lake. Mr. Boss' attorney Abby Cooper, (of Cooper & Reisterer) distinguished herself with her eloquent presentation to the Planning Commission, during which she referred to the current R2 zoning as "arbitrary and capricious."  Her comment may be due to the previous R2 zoning (1980) allowing for 2 home sites per acre, while the current R2 regulations require 1 home site per acre.  Mr. Boss is requesting R3 zoning that allows 3 home sites per acre. Brighton Township will be conducting a Yard Clean Up Day on Saturday, November 10th from 8am-noon.Yard waste includes grass clippings, leaves and brush under two inches in diameter. It must be delivered in paper compost bags or loose in trashcans. Material in plastic bags cannot be collected. Brush should be bundled for easy handling.
