It's spring! It just doesn't feel like it yet. But as we are stuck in this wintry spring in between season, real estate properties on the market right now are springing forward, especially in Portland. 2013 was a great year for Portland condos and real estate, as the overall transaction volume was up 25% since 2012.  Condos in Portland are a seriously hot commodity, especially when you consider how popular it is to live on or near the water in downtown Portland. If you're not looking for a home, and you're over renting apartments, investing in a condo in Portland is the perfect thing to consider purchasing. This is a city that, while small, has so many things to do and see, packed into a very easy to navigate and vibrant downtown area. Portland condos are the prime real estate right no...

The Maine Association Of REALTORS statewide annual meeting is in day two in Portland Maine. Off to a 6:30 class from Kim Coit who was there as the hall monitor when I got my Maine Real Estate Broker License back in th winter of 1979. A trained lawyer and with lots of experiences in all aspects of the real estate industry in Maine, all the many changes, Kim is an old friend I look forward to learning from. Again. And again. No man, No REALTOR is an island. I traveled 3.5 hours to get from Aroostook County to this year's REALTOR's meeting and am learning a lot. Sharing, networking, and will be fully charged after unplugging from all the industry education by noon time Thursday. When it is is time to head north of Interstate 95 to the beginning. Where it connects to the Trans Canada highwa...

Now, I will be the first to tell you that I am NOT sure how this is going to work because I have just changed my listing.  However, if it does work, you gotta love the upside!  Anyway, about three months ago I listed this vacant lot in a nice neighborhood.  It was priced moderately well to sell.  The listing went up, I promoted it, prayed over it, and nada....zip....zero response.  Knowing that my seller was somewhat anxious, I knew that if it generated zero interest in three months what are the chances that I would have buyers clamouring to buy it over the next nine months?I My wife and I drove to the property to hopefully get some inspiration on how to market it.  After looking at the lot and the neighorhood, I was convinced that if there was a house on the lot, it would have a lot be...
