Lions at the National Zoo in Washington, DC One of the benefits of living in the Montgomery County, Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC is that Dolores and I get to visit the National Zoo on a regular basis.  The National Zoo is very large and there is much to see.  We recommend that you plan to spend most of the day at the zoo.  Go in the morning, take a break for lunch and enjoy the exhibits until you are too tired to continue. Take the entire family, with cameras in hand, to capture photographs that you will want to have in your albums. Everybody wants to see the lions so I will share some photographs with you. 47th Wedding Anniversary for Roy and Dolores Kelley Today, Dolores and I have reached another milestone on our 47th wedding anniversary.  We were engaged on St. Patrick's Day in 1965 and were married on June 12, 1965 at the Cradock Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia.  The reception was at the Moose Lodge.  The first night of our honeymoon was at the beautiful Williamsburg Inn in Colonial Williamsburg. The secret to a long and happy marriage is to have the best wife in the world.  My anniversary breakfast will be at the monthly sales meeting of RE/MAX Realty Group, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  A typical schedule for those in real estate. FAQ:  Can you recommend a dentist in Kentlands?  Dolores and I have lived in Kentlands for many years.  There are several dental offices in Kentlands and I am sure that all of them offer highly skilled care for their patients.  However, our experience is limited to the dentists we see on a regular basis. Yes, we can recommend a dentist in Kentlands.  I just had my regular check up at Stiles Dentistry at 333 Main Street, Kentlands, Gaithersburg, Maryland.  The phone number is 301-947-6900.  This is the practice of husband and wife dentists, Dr. Dennis Stiles and Dr. Marie Stiles, and their professional support staff. During my recent visit, Dr. Rossana San Martin examined and cleaned my teeth and took X-rays for review. Dr. Dennis Stiles also examined my teeth and reviewed the X-rays.  S...

Getting Ready For The Dog Days Of Summer In Kentlands We are having very pleasant weather in Maryland but very hot days will soon be the standard.  Now is the time to have your home air conditioning checked and serviced.  We recommend that home owners consider an annual service agreement with a contractor to make sure you will have responsive service at any time it is needed. Our home air conditioning units were serviced this week and, fortunately, no repairs were needed.  Dolores and I have used the same contractor for many years and we recommend their service:  Tuckers Air Conditioning & Heating 12-E Meem Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877  301-670-0034 Be prepared for the hot days and think of those that might suffer from the heat.  Please check on the seniors in your family and in...

Kentlands Community Spring Flowers Photowalking Dolores and I live in the Kentlands community in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  This neo-traditional neighborhood is a favorite for families that are relocated to the metropolitan Washington, DC area.  Kentlands is a walking community with sidewalks on both sides of the well lighted streets. The beautiful flowers that are found in the home gardens make photowalking a popular activity for those that like to combine exercise with photography.  Walking through a community on a regular basis really keeps you informed on what is going on and a chance to meet many neighbors when they are out and about. If you have not tried photowalking, just take your camera with you and watch for the changing colors of the seasons.  Be sure to share the special mome...

When you are considering a home purchase, I recommend walks through the areas you are considering.  Walking will always provide a better perspective than a quick drive by in the area.
