Catonsville will have new elementary schools by 2016 if all goes as planned! Our area has seen a big influx of families over the years - the result has been that the Southwestern District elementary schools are over capacity by hundreds of students. Here is the lowdown: Catonsville Elementary will move from Frederick Road to the Bloomsbury Community Center on Bloomsbury Avenue.  The new school will accommodate 700 students and will have air conditioning which the old school did not. The community center building built in 1925 was used as a high school until the mid 50's so a lot of work will be done to make it a modern school.  Recreation programs will be transfered to various locations (including the Benjamin Banneker Park and Museum) until a new community center location is in place - ...

I found this article that offers expert advice for staging your home when it is listed for sale and thought it may be of help.  I have found that staging your home is a tremendous asset when trying to sell.  I have also started to hear more and more about virtual staging.  Does this actually work??  I think the idea is still a little new to have the results on that, but with everyone searching the internet and looking for pictures I think it may be worth a try.  Please let me know what kind of results you have been seeing if you have tried virtual staging and at what cost.   http://www.cnbc.com/id/101279545?__source=xfinity|mod&par=xfinity

Baltimore County's New Recycling Center is a Win-Win! The new $23 million single-stream recycling center in Cockeysville is a big deal for Baltimore County!  Previously we had to ship our recycling to other areas for sorting & processing and pay them for their work.  Now it's estimated that our county can earn upwards of $1 million a year by recycling our own items as well as accepting single-stream from other locations.  Harford County just agreed to send us their recycling which can bring in $60,000 a month starting in 2014.The recycling center can sort and process 35 tons of materials in an hour.  The sorted bundles of paper, glass, plastic and metal are then sold to customers and businesses who reuse those materials.  Now the residents of Catonsville - who made our town the #2 area ...

York County Pennsylvania home sales here !   Fannie and Freddie Fail To Meet Low Income Lending Goals   We have heard how evil lenders have been writing loans to families that could not pay it back and causing the housing crisis. But if you look at the facts  Fannie and Freddie encouraged this behavior. By admitting they have failed to hit their quota they are telling us that even they think the mandates that Congress gave them are crazy. Both companies missed their 2008 goal to set aside 56 percent of their loan purchases and mortgage guarantees for low-and moderate-income borrowers, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director James Lockhart said today at a real estate industry event in Washington. He didn't say what the new target would be.One of the ways Fannie and Freddie made their goa...

Maryland, The Stupid State. We have a new Democratic Governor, in an almost all one party State, that thinks by calling a special session of the State houses of Congress and forcing through higher taxes and raising fees on anything and everything in sight, without Public Hearings, because of an imaginary Budget Deficit we will attract new businesses and encourage more people to move to Maryland. Its kind of interesting the last Governor was a Republican and when he left Office the State had a budgt surplus. He also wanted to bring slots to Maryland so that we could compete with are Border States and keep gambling revenues in Maryland but the State Legislature, almost all Democratic, was against it. Today the new idea, and one that I endorse is to bring full Casino gambling into our Sta...
