17 Rockwood Road, Natick, MA 02176 Natick, MA 01760 Single Family Housing Market Report May 2011 reports activity of 170 homes.   While this isn’t quite as much activity as there is in the surrounding communities, the level is a good level of activity for this Spring.  With all the negative media surrounding the economy and the housing market it is hard for the real message to get through.  There has not been a time so good to buy and sell real estate as there is right now.  It is true the lending part is a bit more difficult, but the industry certainly needs to get a better and more service oriented than it has been through the last couple of years.  But besides the banks the current prices in real estate market along with the interest rates being so low makes this a great time to get...

Walnut Hill playground in Natick, MA In the heart of Walnut Hill in Natick, MA, next to Walnut Hill school of Arts there's a beautiful playground, a local gem for kids and parents. In between Bacon, street, Walnut Street and Belvedere street, a magical triangle appears - that's the playground, that does not appear as a usual green spot on your google maps. There are your regular play structures and swing sets, and climbing walls. There is a cute little table where kids - or their parents, or grandparents -  can play chess. There is a nice bench under a beautiful pine tree, that is overlooking the hill, that is just pleading to you to sit down with a good book (or iPad, for that matter) There is a basketball ring, and more benches here and there for tired parents and care givers... A Natick MA home buyer should receive a brochure, Home Inspectors Facts for Consumers Sheet, at the time of the signing of the first written contract to purchase. A standard home inspection in Massachusetts is a visual examination of the physical structure and major interior systems of a residential building consisting of one to four dwelling units. It should be understood that there are certain risks inherent in the purchase of property and a home inspection is inherently limited in its scope and depth. The information gained from home inspection conforming to the Massachusetts Home Inspector Standards of Practice may reduce some of those risks, but the home inspection is not intended to provide the client with protection from all of the risks involved. Visit the Natick MA Home Inspect...

It makes me smile to see a community come together to celebrate their natural, local resources.  Such is the case with the annual collecting and boiling of sap to make maple syrup in Natick.  Maple Syrup Magic Day will be held in Natick on Saturday, March 5 this year.  The Day will begin with a pancake breakfast in the cafeteria of the Memorial School starting at 8 a.m.  The school is located at 107 Eliot Street. The Silver Leaf Jazz Band will perform. Tickets will be sold at the door. Also, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. head over to the Natick Community Organic Farm Sugar Shack. You will be able to take a maple sugaring tour, learn about Native American and Colonial sugaring techniques, and experience how the sap is boiled into syrup. The sap comes from buckets on hundreds of sugar maple tree...

What are your favorite tools to dig up your car from under the snow? My personal favorite is a rubber broom. They come up under a few different names: "as seen on TV", "rubber push broom", "All in one rubber broom", "One sweep", and "rubba sweepa" (that's mine).  It's all the same thing: a broom with a rubber head, one one side there are bristles, on the other a squeegee. It takes globs of snow away in one single sweep. Works perfect not only on windows, but takes snow off the roof of the car, because it has the long handle. Rubber bristles will never damage the surface or freeze and become an unusable mess. Lightweight and fun to use.  They come in a few colors (mostly grey, black and navy blue), but I found a pretty purple one.  As a side bonus, you can sweep stone, cement, brick surf...

Who are today's buyers? Despite the recent snow storms here in Boston MEtro West, MA (and there's more snow to be expected!), Spring is in the air. Days are longer, sun shines brighter, you can feel its warmth. Buyers are warming up as well, t seems, as last week I had spoken to a couple of very motivated potential buyers, planning to buy their new home in Natick, MA and in Brookline, MA They were a delight to talk to, had their ducks in the row in terms of financial prep work, but most important thing they wanted to discuss with me was the fact that they don't want to waste time. They didn't want to look at things "just to compare" or "just to have an idea of what's available".  There are certain features they would love to have, yet they were able to define a must have, a must-not hav...

Clean that sign! If you have your Massachusetts home for sale, keep an eye on the sign in your yard. Is it clear? Is it visible? Recent snow fall in Boston Metro West area buried even some mailboxes under it's cover!  Even if your sign is tall enough to peak through the snow, it still is partially invisible. Clear it up!  If you hire someone to help you shovel the snow, let them know where the for sale sign is, so that they don't run it over, and clear it up nicely. If your sign is tilted or broken under the weight of the snow - let your real estate agent know, so that he or she can fix it. If you are selling your Massachusetts home without an agent, and bought your sign at Staples for example, please keep in mind that yours is even lower to the ground than agent's signs, keep it clear!...
