I love selling homes in Holliston. In my experience, I've seen more Holliston Residents who are looking to buy real estate,  looking to move up in town rather than moving out. In fact, I remember working with a builder on four homes on a cul-de-sac in Holliston a few years ago  and three of those four new homes were bought by Holliston residents moving up. If you're looking for homes for sale in Holliston or you live in Holliston now but think you'd like to move to a bigger home, then you need to take a look at this home!   Holliston, MA.  By all accounts a great place to live.  Just close enough to Boston to make it an easy commute.  And just far enough to give it a rural feel.  An award winning school system, great local stores to spend hours window shopping, a great golf course and a wonderful downtown.   In reviewing the Holliston Real Estate Statistics for homes sold in 2011, we see the real estate market is a very stable one.  We see there are homes at every price point selling from $200k thru $1.2 million.  We also see a very stable real estate market as we compare the sold statistics of 2011 with 2010.  To see the detail, click here.

Holliston's Home Sales for November are presented for your review. Here we're comparing Sales in November 2011 while compariing it to sales one year ago in November. Unlike other metrowest towns I've reviewed, Holliston sales appear to be down this year over last. Interestingly enough the average house size last year was around 1600 sq ft.  THis year it appears larger homes are selling - on average 2593 sq ft. Also based on the 4 homes that did sell in November, the average days on market was greater than last year. The one trend that is like other towns is that the average per sq ft sale price has dropped a bit since Nov of 2010.   Again, these numbers are just a sampling because we're focusing on one month.  Next Month I'll present the 12 month analysis which should be more representa...

I took the kids over to the Holliston High School's annual Senior Class Auction.  I strategically showed up for the last hour of the event!  Who knew that food was 1/2 off!  PS.  4 hour old Papa Gino's pizza was not really a good idea! This event is a great fund raiser for the Holliston HS seniors each year.  There were still lots of people milling about, and even more kids and volunteers.  It is great to see the participation from all of them... even though a lot of Seniors were testing out the couches by that point! I have to say though, by that point in the event, there is pretty slim pickins! Here Lara is trying out one of the kids toys.  I think this one may be a bit small for her age! I was able to tour the old trophy cases outside the Field House and point out the Basketball trop...

Ed Moloney recently helped me obtain a mortgage for my first house. From the beginning he was able to answer all of my question (and I had a LOT), explain my different options and how the process worked. When I finally decided to start looking at homes he was even able to refer me to a great Realtor. Once we finally found the right house for us Ed was able to walk us through each step of the mortgage and home buying process. He was in touch nearly every day making sure I did not have any questions and that I was taking all of the necessary steps to complete the process. When I had questions Ed instantly followed up with a phone call or even met with us to be sure we understood what was going on. Since my first meeting with Ed back in January I have referred him to good friends of mine w...

We have all experienced loss. Many deal with it in different ways in the short term. Everyone grieves differently and people should respect that and learn from it.  This Sunday not only is the celebration of Easter but it also marks the date that 15 years ago when God reached down and saw her tired face and decided to bring her to his garden of heaven. That person was my mother. Florence Pinky Moloney. She was only 54 years old. In her years on this earth she had an everlasting impact on so many that she touched. She chose a career that kept her close to home that she could ride her bike to her work everyday if she desired. She was the head Secretary to several different principals in the Holliston school systems. She was a proud mother of 3. She also had a great faith that was strong a...

I came across some discolored water coming out of our faucets and toilets today, and it caused me to pause and check into it. I would think Holliston residents are noticing this and going online to see what's up? Unfortunately, the site information caused me to have additional questions about Holliston's colored water.   Let me start out by disclosing to my readers who may not have heard my rants, but I have a problem with the direction that our current Water Dept is taking us. There are huge costs for replacement of old water pipes that have not been planned for over the past 20 years. There is "missing" water and we have not been able to determine how all of our pumped water is not making it from the wells to the townspeople's faucets. etc. etc. So, the explanation of the discolored w...

A Holliston MA home buyer should receive a brochure, Home Inspectors Facts for Consumers Sheet, at the time of the signing of the first written contract to purchase. A standard home inspection in Massachusetts is a visual examination of the physical structure and major interior systems of a residential building consisting of one to four dwelling units. It should be understood that there are certain risks inherent in the purchase of property and a home inspection is inherently limited in its scope and depth. The information gained from home inspection conforming to the Massachusetts Home Inspector Standards of Practice may reduce some of those risks, but the home inspection is not intended to provide the client with protection from all of the risks involved.
