What happens in Boston if you do not pay your doctor, cell phone, or utility bill?  You will not only receive some less than friendly phone calls, but your debt will also be reported to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.  These major credit bureaus will then ding your credit report to show that you owe money, and most debts will remain as a collection account for up to seven years! Why do companies go to the trouble of reporting these debts?  They do it because reporting the debt to the credit bureaus makes it difficult for the debtor to obtain credit, thus increasing the possibility they will get paid the money they are owed.  It may also lower FICO scores.  If it did not work, trust me, they would not bother reporting. So why don't Boston landlords report previous tenants that owe the...

The Fishermans feast is highlighted by a procession to the waterfront to bless the waters and protect the fisherman. there is, of course a celebration in the streets of the north end, including games, music and lots of food, some of which is captured on this video.

45 Province St Boston, MA vs The Ritz residences.  Who is the True King of this Luxury Boston Real Estate Battle?     Recently I was talking with a buyer relocating from New York City to Boston who was looking for a full service luxury building in the downtown Boston area.  His main requirements where that the condo be located close to downtown  Boston and Boston common and offer the same level of service as his building in NYC.  Now this buyers building had it all including a great location, fantastic views, security, doorman, valet parking, concierge and even a spa.  So, I sent the buyer a custom list of properties and after a review the boston homes for sale he had narrowed his search down to 2 Boston full service luxury buildings.     The first luxury condo building he picked was 45...

Congratulations to the Red Sox who beat the Yankees tonight to regain sole possession of the American League East.  That makes the Red Sox 7-0 so far this year against the Yankees.  Not much makes me as happy as when the Sox beat the Yankees! :)MattToll Free: 888-NCFIXER (623-4937)Toll Free Fax: 888-FAX-4020 (329-4020)Local: 860-282-6181330 Roberts Street 4th FloorEast Hartford, CT 06108

This morning I was fortunate enough to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Arlington T Stop. The sun was shinning and a good sized crowd of public officials as well as the general public were in attendance. Everyone involved in the project did a tremendous job making this station more accessible to people of all abilities. One of the highlights was a new glass encased elevator that makes both people in wheel chairs as well as parents with strollers able to get down to the platform level much easier.

Barney Frank is Sorry for Voting to Take Funding Away from Indicted ACORN, Appeals for An Amendment  By Christine Emmick Recently the US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee passed unanimously an amendment that would make it illegal for indicted organizations to receive public funds. This makes perfect sense that if an organization is in legal trouble, they shouldn't receive our money. But ACORN is in legal trouble these days. Seems they may have bought some fraudulent voter registrations in Nevada and Pennsylvania. This created a dilemma for Mr. Barney Frank. He voted for this legislation that would eliminate funds for the Democrat loved ACORN. "I did not read it carefully, and it was in the last minute that the amendment was accepted," he said. Sounds more like a plea...

By now, many of you have learned that the Attorney General's office of Massachusetts (headed by Martha Coakley) and Goldman Sachs, in the first settlement of its kind in the entire country, have agreed to have Goldman reduce the size of sub-prime loans for some 700 Massachusetts homeowners by up to 35 percent. This settlement is noteworthy for two very important reasons:  1)Goldman did not originate these loans but is still being held accountable and 2)with a reduced mortgage, some of these homeowners may very well be in a position now to put their homes on the market.  This means that in the next few months, there may very well be a surge of more inventory here in Massachusetts.
