South Acton Neighborhood Info By betsypurcell posted April 26th, 2011     Faulkner Homestead in South Acton   South Acton used to be the most industrialized area of Acton. In the 18th century many, many mills and other small industrial developments were in this area and using water power generated by the Fort Pond Brook. South Acton includes the Faulkner Homestead, which is the oldest home still standing in Acton. The Homestead was owned by the Faulkner family who also owned and operated a mill that was just across the street from the family home. The Jones Tavern is another antique building that is still standing, and dates back to the Revolutionary War era. It is open to the public several times a year.
