If you have above average taste, you will not be dissapointed in Parkwood II Estates in West Monroe, LA. A still developing subdivision, Parkwood II features homes that date back as far as 1998 all the way up to brand new contructions. Below is an example of a home on Wolf Lair Drive that is currently on the market. Listed at $244,500 at 2250 per square foot, it is a definite value in this neighborhood. This home was completed and sold in January of this year and was the first new construction sold in the neighborhood in 2011. I had the privelige of acting as the buyer's agent on this transaction and can attest to the stunning beauty of this home. At 2149 heated square feet, this represents what was near the top end of the neighborhood several months ago. The selling price on this home...

I've gotta be honest. I'm still a bit skeptical about being able to run the whole 13.1 mile race in November. Don't get me wrong, I'm making tremendous progress. For instance, my Day 1 time for 2 miles was a whopping 48 minutes! That included several sessions of walking over the duration. Exactly 4 weeks later, my 2 mile time was 19:30 and 2 days later, 19:01! I'm definitely feeling faster and stronger. Still, in the back of my mind, I keep asking myself,"Can you really do this?" Back up a few days to Saturday when I ran 5 miles with my cousin and my wife. Somehow I allowed my wife to map our course. We ran some of the "hilly-est" roads in West Monroe, LA! I struggled a bit at first, falling far behind. At the 3 1/2 mile mark, I was feeling pretty good. Then, with about 3/4 of a mile le...

$3.8 Million Dollar Office Building Sold     Richland Tower in West Monroe, which Mayor Dave Norris called an "instant landmark" when it opened in 2005, has been bought by ZEG Ventures of New Orleans for $3.8 million.   By 2009, only two floors of the 57,000-square-foot building were occupied, but Ryan Roark's Advanced Property Management firm brought Richland Tower back to 100 percent occupancy, which facilitated the sale to ZEG Ventures.   Ryan Roark brokered the sale locally through Keller Williams Commercial and he will continue to manage the property.   Roark scored a key deal with new tenant Ford, Bacon and Davis, which leased two floors. Richland State Bank, which was an original tenant, continues to anchor the first floor.   "This is really the premier office building in West...

The home market is always busy in Indian Lakes! This popular community was built around 3 lakes, and now has more than 530 households. Drew Elementary, Westridge Middle and West Monroe High Schools serve this area. Currently, only 9 homes are for sale ranging in price from $157,000 to $649,500--quite a range of sizes, amenities, and prices. This is evidence that Indian Lakes has affordable homes as well as some of the larger, more prestigious homes in Ouachita Parish.             Since the beginning of 2010, 11 homes have sold with an average of 94 days on the market, priced from $145,000 to $550,000. As expected, the highest priced homes stayed on the market longest (582 days) because the pool of buyers in Ouachita Parish is smaller for homes priced over $500,000. Indian Lakes offers l...

The project will be kicked off Jan. 16-18 in conjunction with the national Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
