Louisville Slugger Baseball Bats and the Worlds Finest Bourbon. But one of Louisville's best little secrets is that it is a great place to live. It is the 16th largest city in the United States and that makes it kind of like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears kind of town, Not too Big, not too Small, but Louisville is Just Right. Click here to see a snapshot of communities and neighborhoods in Louisville. These are some of Louisville's most desirable and sought after subdivisions. It gives an overview of where the subdivisions are located and the price range and what the neighborhood has to offer, such as clubhouse, pools, tennis, golf courses and country clubs available in these communities located in Jefferson County.

We have a pool about a minutes drive from our house. In the summer our kids burn it up and are pool bums until Labor Day. It is a great place to end a hot summer day hanging out with the kids and talking to neighbors who, without the pool, we would rarely if ever talk to or get to know. The pool has been a great tool for us to get to know other families better and also just have a great time. I work with families moving to the Louisville area and many times they are looking for a subdivision that has more to offer than just sidewalks. With a community pool, golf or country club, you are given opportunities to get to know people when you are new to an area and adds another dimension to neighborhood living. Plus, you don’t have to maintain the pool. There is value in that. I have started...

Moving to a New City can be an exciting time, especially if you are looking to head to Louisville, KY. I have lived in the Louisville area for close to 13 years and I have grown to appreciate all Louisville has to offer and the life that can be enjoyed in and around Louisville. Louisville Metro claims to be the 16th largest city in the United States. I know if you are coming from one of the largest cities, Louisville might seem quite small, but whatever Louisville lacks in size it makes up for in quality of life. You can live downtown, the Highlands or Frankfort Ave areas and enjoy city life with numerous parks, The Waterfront, Shops, Nightlife and Dining. There seems to be festivals and events happening every weekend that keep downtown a destination even after the work day is complete....

I had the honor to work with a couple of folks and helped them find their dream home. Brian and Emily wanted a home in the highlands of Louisille at an affordable price. The home we found was exactly what they wanted. The pictures below are before photos, they wanted a home that would allow them to upgrade and make the home over in their unique style. Well they found it and today is moving day!!! These are my wishes for them.

Not my listing, but I saw a house that is priced under market, around 5 years old, over 2500 sqf. With a little paint and flooring, instant equity of up to $15,000-$20,000 dollars. I spent most of the week without power, so I did not get a great feel for the Ryder Cup Experience and what the tv folks were saying. I had a chance, thanks to a good friend, to go out to Valhalla on Friday for the opening round of the 2008 Ryder Cup at Louisville's own Valhalla Golf Club. The weather was perfect and it was a great event for Louisville to host. There was excitement in the air and you could really feel it. Chants of USA and Ole'. Ole, Ole' could be heard all day long. From what I could tell, I think Louisville pulled off a great week and the visitors enjoyed our wonderful city. To see some video of the week at Valhalla, visit Ryder Cup Valhalla 2008

Well it has almost been a week and still no power.  I am sitting in my friends comfortable, air conditioned home watching HGTV and drinking tea.  Because of the kindness of friends, my family and I have continued to live in relative comfort,  As you probably know the Louisville Kentucky area suffered Ike's wrath like many communities in our beautiful country.  The mayor states that it could be up to two more weeks with no power and very sketchy cell service.  It's funny that sometimes we get so involved in our careers and daily lives that we forget how lucky we are to have good friends and neighbors.  As trying as this has all been it has reminded me of the quote by John Donne.  "All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book,...

We are down to just under 200,000 residences without power in the Louisville Metro Area and unfortunately, we are still one of them. But we will survive. Crestwood and Buckner for the most part are still without power, but I am sure we will be up and running soon. Not that there is good timing for a wind storm with clocked gusts over 80 miles an hour, but with Louisville on the world stage this week with the 2008 Ryder Cup coming to town with visitors from around the state, country and world coverging on Shelbyville Rd, this was not the best week for 2 major events. I have not been able to watch TV the past 2 days, which has not been such a bad thing, so I am not sure how things are going at Valhalla, but I am sure it will still be a great event despite the hurdles (and trees) that had ...
