GUARANTEED WINNING BET Greetings! Ryan Bruzan here. One of the most neglected home maintenance items, in the humblest of my experienced opinions, is changing the air filter(s) in the furnace. The commonly stated rule is to change the filter once per month, but depending on the season and the type of filter, that rule does not necessarily apply. With the variety of filters out there, it is important to understand the working conditions of the type of filter chosen. Some filters have instructions and important useful information on the packaging. The following paragraphs are simply my own observations as a homeowner. TYPES OF FILTERS Over the years I have tried a variety of filters for a variety of reasons: price, brand, review, experienced usage, energy bill, my own home energy research...

Oldham County Veterinary Services in LaGrange, Kentucky across from Cherrywood Place subdivision is an awesome place to take your pets. Our friend gave us a kitten and after much debating, we named her Hollie Ali as a compromise. We added the Ali because she is such a scrapper, a little bitty thing and not scared of the big neighbor cats at all! You'd never know it by looking at her photo of her on the water bowl. She's a lover and a fighter! We normally keep our cats indoors but if we are outside or in the garage we will let them out for a bit. They are very good about staying in the yard.  I was concerned about Hollie so I called the vet my husband took Loopy to last year. Tracy, the receptionist, was really nice about working us in on a Saturday, and they also took Loopy in to get he...

This is a scene I enjoy all too infrequently! I love watching the ducks at Wilborn Park in LaGrange, Kentucky. This is one of Oldham County's best kept secrets. The ducks are friendly and will come right up to you (looking for food). I used to feed them until I found out that wasn't good for them as wildlife creatures. Happy Sunday!

Oldham County is one of the most beautiful places in Kentucky, and its Cherrywood Place subdivision is no exception. Did you know that there are two entrances to Cherrywood Place? One is beside Kroger, and the other is beside Tractor Supply. Both entrances are connected now so that you can go all the way through one to get to the other.  The best thing about living in Cherrywood Place is the close proximity to shopping. There are several banks within walking distance! Restaurants abound in this area, and there are even at least three restaurants that serve alcohol - Applebees, Beef O'Brady's and El Alcapulco.  Cherry House is a popular place to buy upscale furniture and is located in a beautiful area.  There are lots of service providers in the area as well, that are within walking dis...

Jerry and I built our first home in LaGrange, Kentucky.  When we first drove out to look for land, our daughter, Heather, then only 7 years old, sounded out the words of the sign she saw as we crossed over the Jefferson/Oldham line and shouted, "I don't want to live in OLD - HAM County !"  But she loved living in LaGrange, and is so happy we moved there because it's where she met - and married - her high school sweetheart. We now live in Crestwood (still in Oldham County), but we both love to take the short drive to LaGrange whenever we get a little time off.  There's so much to do in downtown LaGrange, all year round.I love meeting a girlfriend early on Saturday mornings at the Farmer's Market.  Our routine is to get a tall cup of gourmet coffee and sample the fresh fruit.  The Farmer's...
