  There may be no law against eating a banana while driving in California, but is there a law against putting a banana on the side of a rental house in West Lafayette, Indiana???     Our colleague Kathleen Daniels wrote a fun, inspirational, and desultory post, There is no law against eating a banana while driving  a few days ago, and her post jogged my memory over a photo I took over a year ago of a rental house in West Lafayette just a couple of blocks from the Purdue University Campus.     Purdue University Fountain in Engineering Mall   The Purdue Engineering Mall Fountain is a notable landmark on the West Lafayette Campus of Purdue University.  The Executive Office and various engineering and physics buildings encase the Engineering Mall and the fountain is the center piece.  It is a very popular spot for recent high school and Purdue graduates to have their pictures taken.     Purdue University Bell Tower    The Purdue University Bell Tower is in the heart of the Purdue Campus next to world famous Elliot Hall of Music.  It is actually a recent landmark as it was constructed in 1995 as a tribute to the tower at Heavilon Hall that was destroyed by fire around 1895.  As a tribute to that former landmark the Purdue Bell Tower houses four bells that were in the former Heavilon Hall Tower.  I must admit I do not have good memories of Heavilon Hall while earning my two degrees at Purdue University as it was where I had to attend by English and literature classes.   The Purdue Bell Tower is one of the two most popular spots on campus to take graduation photos and students usually stand under the walk through below the tower for their "I graduated from Purdue!" ph... 07/25/2014

    Proposed Apartment Building south of Chauncey Square in West Lafayette by Purdue University.   There may be more new apartments for incoming Purdue University students in the Fall of 2015 if a plan to develop a new apartment complex between Salisbury and Littleton Streets is approved by Area Plan and the West Lafayette City Council later this summer.  The developer is planning a 46 unit apartment building with a combination of one, three, and four bedroom apartments for a total of 75 bedrooms.  Parking space is always a key issue when gaining final approval by Area Plan and the West Lafayette City Council.
